I have not followed his (mis)fortunes.
Does anyone know what happened to him since his departure from Collingwood?

Been following Tom Mitchell on Instagram. Phillips is on holiday with Mitchell.

...rubbing shoulders with ex team mate and incumbent Collingwood player!
That can only be beneficial for Phillips.
We'll see what happens in the delist draft in 2 weeks

Wouldn't it be romantic for Phillips to return to his former club?
I bet most Magpies supporters would be thrilled.

Why do you think we want Phillips back? Just another flanker who'll compete with another 10 players at Collingwood for a position on the wing. To add to all the flankers accumulated over the Buckley years, during which time we never groomed any key position players.

I remember him to have great speed as outside mid and could venture fwd to regularly kick goals.
It would not cost anything to have him back. Let him work his way back into the team.

Could someone please tell me what picks we have in the 2023 draft ?

16, 25, 27, 51

Thanks Btp, I meant what draft picks do we have in next years draft, Im hoping we hung on to our future first round pick.

Future first rounder only at this stage. No big deal to only have one pick at this stage, particularly since it’s the one you want to keep.

Thanks P16, its good we still have our future first rounder. Tick.

Do we now have to trade to get the minimum 3 picks required by AFL rules.?
So would that mean its our responsibility to get those 2 picks added to 2023.?

He had no great speed at all. What he had was endurance. He regularly won the 5km run after he joined, wresting it from Sidebottom. Then Rantall won it. His career was a short one. Phillips was a very ordinary kick too. He played well in the 2018 GF. That was his finest moment. It didn't deserve a 500k a year contract though. The last thing we want is to have him back. Why do you think the Brown brothers were delisted? Poor kicks. No leg speed. Both flankers. Why do you think Poulter and Madgen haven't been awarded contracts? Both flankers. How many players do you think are needed to fill the wing position? Answer is two. You don't need to carry over a dozen players on a forty player list who play the wing position.

Memo:

* Hawks on a rebuild of rebuild WON'T EVER give up pick 6
* Pies should try find a suitor, especially a lowly ranked team for 2023 and consider off-loading our pick 25 into a future 2nd & 3rd rounder thus restoring our full complement of picks
* Use 16 and 27 for best available Forward and Mid
* Use pick 51 for a Hine special
* Delist Madgen

i'm sure that Phillips will still be around at pick 51. No one delists a player without ascertaining first whether anyone might trade for him first.

We only have 1 spot on the list. 3 if Poulter and Madgen are not re-contracted. Either way, we will not be using pick 51

I want us to swap picks for next years draft which reportedly is a beauty. We have little left for next year

Richmond has delisted Sydney Stack. There's likely some background story there but that kid has entirely too much talent to not be on an AFL list.

They also delisted Riley Collier-Dawkins and Jake Aarts.
Depth will be an issue for them after signing two Giants players for 7 year deals.

Any second now really.

The Delisted Player Free Agency Period starts on Thursday 03 November, and the draft is on Monday 28 November. At least one of Poulter/Madgen will be delisted.

Delisted players of interest: Tom Phillips, Liam Stocker, Jackson Callow, Quinton Narkle, Jarrod Brander, Daniel Howe, Connor Downie, Collier-Dawkins, Sydney Stack.

I wonder how many of them will find new homes?

We have 1 rookie selection coming up. It's very unlikely that we sign anyone in the delisted player period. With only 2 spots open (must have 3 for draft) and 2 unsigned players, I cant see us with the room to sign anyone.

So the questions for everyone are, which of Poulter/Madgen is delisted (would you want to rookie one)? Is there a delisted player you want to sign? And how do you want to spend our rookie selection?
