I hope not, unless we miraculously win the flag. |
Same. I hope they win the flag if we don't. (And we won't) _________________ The beatings will continue until moral improves. |

They have had enough time to fix the entries into the forward line, but Buckley is still showing his failings as a coach.
We should be winning a lot more games with the number of forward entries yet when the opposition go forward they are able to score more easily.
Sadly our season ends next week and probably in a similar fashion. |

To be fair, they tried to trade Scharenberg last year but nobody was interested, probably because he was the 12th or 13th defender in selection line for us last year. It’s all very well for people to lament his injuries - and, of course, they won’t have helped - but I remember watching him play VFL before he broke into the senior side and thinking that he seemed too slow for the AFL. Really, how do you get that at pick 6? I don’t know how the guys who make these mistakes remain at the Club. |
Maybe because he was labelled the best school boy player since Wayne Carey?????
It didn't translate at AFL level because of the injuries you happened to mention. |
No, he was hopelessly slow before those injuries. |
In your opinion, although he did have the operation on the feet before he even played a VFL or AFL game. |

We are our own worst enemy. Seriously, how many times can you miss the target by foot or hand? How many poor decisions can one team make?
Apart from the terrible errors that plague us, I hate that our first thought is to handball backwards or sideways. You can see that often they don't even look forward!!!!! The first look is most often sideways/backwards.

I think we need a game plan change. More direct ball use. Particulary out of stoppage. |

The team did the best it could given the abilities it had. This is an 8th best team playing the #1 team in the comp and we lost by 3 goals which is perfectly reflective of where the two teams are at.
Now, why we are the #8 best team in the competition when we had players out there like Pendles, DeGoey, Treloar, Grundy, Adams, Moore, Crisp and host of other players that should be either very good or excellent like Stevo, WHE, Elliot, Mihocek, Maynard is a serious question that continues to hold us back. Our general skill level is still an issue, especially under perceived pressure. Far too much fumbling going on. Not enough overlap running. Poor decision making even with time to think. Constant rushed no-look kicks and backwards handballing when a direct quick kick i50 is needed all adds up to a cocktail of under performance.
Not to mention our lack of "intimidation" factor. That intimidation factor can win you games before they even begin or at least give you a huge edge. I don't see anyone push the opposition around, mouth off to them etc outside of Maynard and Greenwood, not enough. Our big men are just not physical enough and don't set the standard.
We weren't too far away on the scoreboard but we never really looked to trouble them, they looked in 3rd gear to be honest and should have won by a few more goals. It's clear our depth is a problem, I can reel off a lot of names that are simply just either spectactors or liabilities with their turnovers. Hate to throw in Grundy, but currently he is more a liability than an asset. Too many poor decisions in the ruck contests giving away goals, too many taps direct to opposition or going backwards losing us momentum. Not sure what is up there but he is hurting us right now.
Thomas, Brown, Greenwood, WHE, Stevo & Varcoe are giving us next to nothing, genuine passengers over the course of 4 quarters. They may give some 1% stuff and chip in occassionally but they are awol 90% of screen time. We are carrying too many and the load is felt by too few. This is the true heart of our problem and it filters through the confidence of team when not all of the 22 pull their weight. Our bottom 6 are a true liability and it needs to be the strength of every premiership team.
No reason we can't still beat the Eagles though (but probably won't). They aren't goiong all that flash and have their injury concerns too. Only question is do we have the balls for the challenge? _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Teams like Gold Coast and North, you can make up for but Port and BL eat it up like a proper top 8 side. _________________ Smoking shadows behind the mirrors - Travis Cloke |

WB did it in 2016. Lost their last Home and Away game to Fremantle, then went on to win the GF.
The main thing was that they got stars returning.
Who do we have returning?
Hopefully we wlill have Sier.
Do we have momentum...as this is the key factor.
After tonight's game, it is yes and no.
Time will tell. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

The interesting thing is that we lose the mid field clearance's but win off the back half.
But the forwards don't win.
Hence we lose.
Fix the midfield clearance's and break even in the forwards then we could win the flag |
