Despite getting a few kicks, it will be a mistake to keep Mayne in the side. He adds nothing, is slow and has only average skills. He does try though.

Blair on the other hand, demonstrated his worth by being a major contributor to our victory over the Bears, with his experience, guts and skill. He deserves to keep his spot, and for now will keep young Brown out of the side. As this is probably Bilbo's last season with us, Brown has time on his side.

We need an injection of class this week, especially if Pendles is under a cloud.

Out: Mayne, Crocker, Appleby, Pendles (inj).

In: Wells, Fasolo, Langdon, Maynard.

I'd love to see Sier come in, but I can't squeeze him in just yet. However, I expect he'll get a game very soon.

Just watched the replay and Appleby will learn from the experience but he badly needs to go back to the twos. He cost us at least three goals through poor defending last night. Twice in five minutes in the third quarter he flew as second man up, failed to make any contact, and let it go over the back for his man to kick a goal. I guess that is what we have defensive coaches for, but you have to wonder where the runner was after the first one.

Flynn will learn and probably be a good player in time, but I’ll be very glad to see Langdon and hopefully Maynard back.

Fail to see why it takes a runner to tell a player what he already knows. Personally I'm with the AFL on wanting to get rid of runners from the ground. Dunn has been a little off the last couple of games and Scharenberg has been tied up having to defend against 6'5" monsters. And then as you say Maynard and Langdon haven't played. Bring those two back, play Moore in defence when Reid comes back and our defence looks much better. I think you're right. Appleby will be dropped for the Geelong game. However looking forward to the middle part of the season I think Appleby should come back into the senior side provided he keeps improving. Crisp, Langdon, Scharenberg and Murray are a lock-in in defence. We have that option of moving Maynard into the middle which means that there is a place for either Appleby or Murphy in the backline if they want to take it (Appleby currently ahead of Murphy).

Since he repeated the same mistake twice within 5 mins, I am not convinced that he did know it. I have never found runners detract from the game, and I could live with or without them. But when we have them, it seems a shame that young Flynn didn’t get the message. I think he has the makings of a good player, but he has a way to go yet.

With the advent of in for injured I was watching a media thing where one person had Bucks the best coach so far in 2018

And the facts she used was based on injury with his list and it’s impediment

At top was Adelaide with 68 games lost (don’t know how it’s arrived at)

We were 60 games lost on same formula (think it’s collective across team)

The Tiggers 16 games lost—might explain a few things

Blair deserved votes on the weekend. He was terrific. There is zero chance that Blair gets dropped unless at least 4 others (including Mayne and Crocker) also make way. He is in career best form.

"Career best form", not necessarily a positive, it all depends where your career has been.

This is not the under 12s. There should be no concept of who deserves to go or stay. A professional football side should pick the team that they thinks has the best chance of winning.

For mine, I can not see Blair fitting this criteria. OK, so he wasn't completely useless against the lions, (didn't score mind you).

But if other players are available, then time to go

Pendles cleared of serious injury. A chance to play this week.

Got to hope the wheel turns massively. At the moment, their only real injury concern is Rioli.

Not sure if I wanted Hawkins to play or not. If he played it was a clear match up for Dunn. Not sure who he takes now.

By all accounts Sier is in best week in and week out and in the short clip on our website some of his work on display

It won’t be if he gets a game it’s when —his monstering around packs one thing but his ball use I have seen in video are top notch
