Jolly did his mercenary job for us, thanks, now please kindly **** off. |

I have to say, though, the 2010 grand final is going to become very bittersweet viewing at this rate. It features, in no particular order:
Darren Jolly, who everybody hates;
Dale Thomas, who everybody hates;
Heritier Lumumba, who everybody hates even though he hasn't left yet;
Sharrod Wellingham;
Jarryd Blair, who everybody wants to see delisted;
Travis Cloke, who copped a year's worth of venom for considering his options;
and, last but not least, Mick Malthouse up in the box.
At this rate, some Nicksters are going to start barracking for the Saints! |
David, i generally dont rate what you have to say, but this was side-splittingly funny. you make a great point.
I must say, i am really shocked at how our 2010 team is now generally regarded by the fan base. I dont remember it happening in 1990.
I wonder if we feel let down by a group that we mistakenly believed were going to be a force forever. It felt like that in 2011 that's for sure. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

To suggest general disregard for our 2010 premiership team is a very long bow.
I still get great enjoyment out of watching that performance. And I actually feel sorry for those that have moved on because none of them have exactly moved to greener pastures have they. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

I think the point I was trying to make is that, beyond being unfair to the players involved, all this spite aimed at ex-players (and, in some cases, current players) is actually potentially hurting our memories of our last flag.
We're only four years in, too; with free agency etc., how many more of our premiership heroes are going to cop venom from this board in the future?
By the way, I forgot to add Dawes, Toovey and Shaw, who also copped some fearful treatment on here. Remember when Tooves was briefly considering trying his luck on the market? People couldn't wait to tell us how terrible a player he was and how happy they'd be to see him go. As with Cloke, I feel like some of that abuse hangs around, like a huge fight between spouses that never gets resolved. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
