Round one next year? A lot of water to pass under the bridge till then RB. Fingers crossed he pushes hard to force the coaches to uncategorically select him as playing first round.
P.S have we filled the position that Kevin White vacated?

I think we have a second rounder and a heap of 3rds or something? Has someone done the math?

Any points def comes off your first pick so it slides back

Collingwood have Picks 33, 39, 41, 45 = 1768 pts

IF Daicos is Bid on at Pick 1
3000 pts
less 20% discount 2400 pts
2400 -1768 = 632 pts deficit or Pick 29 (653 pts)
Picks 41 (412pts) an 54 (220) pts would cancel this deficit

IF Daicos is Bid on at Pick 2
2,517 pts
less 20% discount 2014 pts
2,014 -1768 = 246 pts deficit or Pick 52 (246pts)

IF Collingwood have a 632 pts deficit in 2022
Pick 1 slides to Pick 3
Pick 2 slides to Pick 5
Pick 3 slides to Pick 8
Pick 4 slides to Pick 10
Pick 5 slides to Pick 13

IF Collingwood have a 200 pts deficit in 2022

Cheers. That’s good info. Being selected at #2 really does help the cause.
I’ve said all along, if Daicos was to “ slide “ to # 2, it would be a reasonable win for us. I think it will come down to whether the club with pick 1 decides to either A ) pick for needs over the best available, given that neither option are live picks or B ) whether a discreet “ mutual benefit “ conversation has been held between that club and Collingwood.
We also shouldn’t assume it will be North who go to the night with #1 either.
I wouldn’t rule out the Crows kicking off the night just yet.

The only thing that would stop Daicos playing round one next year would be an interrupted pre season. The AFL has now restructured to U19s, so Daicos would actually be debuting as a 19 year old as compared to previous debutants who usually play their first game as 18 year olds. It’s the perfect introduction for a prodigious talent.

Great to see now what we need exactly.

So now we can start speculating and have a general idea of how we can manufacture the needed points.

Sier and Cox for those picks 41 and 54 sound about right, and we could always trade a future pick to sweeten the deal(s).
Im more confident now than ever that we can get Nick and hold on to our first round pick in 2022.

I've never really understood much about this stuff.

Why wasn't Nick considered a straightforward 'father/son' recruit ?

I’m guessing you mean why did both parties have to go through all the formalities when Peter only ever played for Collingwood.
There are and have been instances where the the son either A ) doesn’t want to play for his dads club ( mark Murphy ) and B ) the son qualifies for more than one club under the F / S rules ( Cloke brothers )
Thats why we have those formal rules to take out any confusion or potential issues in the above scenarios.
For it to all come together, it simply needs both parties to give each other a hug and decide they both want to commit to each other.
Conversely, should one party decide they dont want to invest in the other, then the son just goes into the draft and takes his chances.

I think it’s because if your team finished the season 17th, you could theoretically get a player ranked 1 or 2 at pick 17 or later. This goes against football socialism/equalisation ideology where the teams in greatest need get the best players in the draft. Something like that anyway.
