The real question is whether Collingwood is stupid enough to persevere with Cox instead of Witts when Witts is younger and much better. Who in their right mind trades a guy willingly when he's capable of getting 52 hitouts, 20 disposals and 2 goals in the VFL (he will do that at AFL level soon enough) and is still way-off peaking? Then again, I suppose this is the same football department that wanted to trade him to GWS and recruit Kreuzer (a player no Carlton supporter wants) in his place, so I guess the question answers itself.

Bit hard get a Game ahead of Grundy who since the Bye has been 1 of the Best Rucks in the AFL.

Big Difference between the VFL and AFL. Espically for Talls

Why on earth would he stay when all he can look forward to is being insurance for an injury to Grundy?

I'd like the big fella to stick around too, but in all honesty I can't see him allowing his football career to be frustrated by playing second fiddle to Grundy and mostly in the VFL. It ain't gonna happen. He's gonski. Get used to the idea guys. That way you'll feel better about it when it happens.

Look, I've loved how Grundy has played in recent weeks too. Bloody great stuff.

However, Witts is also accelerating his rate of development as he gets closer to that optimum age for a ruck. Will Grundy keep improving or will he plateau and have Witts go past him? Will Grundy still be able to leap in 3 years time? If not his capacity to win centre bounces will go backwards.

Don't know, if I could see the future I'd be winning Tatts every weekend and making billions in the sharemarket and on the punt.

He may seem superfluous to our needs at the moment, but you don't make another team better because we're nice guys and want to give him a chance elsewhere, unless we get something bloody good in return. The people who sook about Ceglar performing at the Hawks would have apoplexia at how Witts would perform at Hawthorn or Sydney.

You would bring in a Mature Age Ruck to Replace Witts to have as Cover for Grundy

Or keep Witts in case he proves to be the better of the two.

Highly doubt as Witts would pretty have to be Best Ruck in the AFL

No. We need a Back-Up. We are looking for someone who can play Forward as well as Ruck

Which would be, in no particular order from our current list,

Grundy
Witts
White
Moore
Wyatt
Gault
Cox

I think people are just a little quick writing off the potential for Grundy and Witts to work together at senior level.
