Do you reckon e could get a late second rounder for Eddie? Sending him to Gold Coast would improve management standards at both clubs. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Get Daics and Brown jrs in the draft and beg. borrow, steal or whatever else it takes to get a young KP forward.
FWIW, I'd keep White. |
Hartley isn't a top up player, was actually drafted. Missed the boat _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Was Hartley a top up player?
Even if he was, wouldn't he still be tied to the Bumbers unless they delist him? |

Once Hurley and Hooker return to the Essendon side I would assume that Hartley and Mitch Brown will be delisted. Both have been doing a good job this year without being outstanding to me. Hartley still looks skinny to me and surprised they played him on Griffiths on the the weekend, but still looked OK. |

It's a bit early for this thread IMO but I understand the basis of it.
I've said before bar the captain and Reid Grundy Moore Treloar Adams I would consider any deal on any other players as long as it's a benefit to us. Realistically there's probably 30 players safe and about 8-10 who could easily be traded if we could improve our list with the remainder either being delisted or retire.
I just get concerned that if the likes of Toovey, Swan and McCaffer retire and we move on say a Oxley Williams White Witts we just keep throwing away experience and brining in more younger players or draft picks
We've lost so much experience the past 3/4yrs we need some stability and just add the right blend of youthful exuberance with skilful players and seasoned campaigners to compliment the core group we have now.
If we believe Daicos and Brown can become good AFL players then that's a no brainer but after that we need to very selective on the moves we make
We will have 4 new recruits next year in Keefe Thomas Scharenberg & Ramsay all of whom could be in or around our best 22 (ok maybe Thomas not so much)
We need to identify our weaknesses and fill this voids
We need some outside speed skilful type
We need another big body defender in case Brown goes down
We need a true crumbing small forward in the Bette Rioli mold
And finally we need a rebounding HBF
Maybe Daicos or Brown are the small forwards
Can Keefe be Brown's back up ?
Can Ramsay or Scharenberg be the rebounding HBF ?
For mine we have to many 180-186cm average skills average paced types
Wouldn't mind finding a 6ft2" midfielder a well if there's one around to compliment Pendles
I honestly don't think we are to far off with the list maybe 3 or 4 players to take it from a average side to a good side
If we had to trade a good player to fill one of the big holes we have then so be it and that's the point Dunstall makes when evaluating our list |

We're short on talent IMO, even without the injuries I don't we have all the pieces of the puzzle to win a flag. _________________ Defender...........

And how do we pay him more than Essendon with the money left over from Treloar, Aish and Howe. |

Swan's gone, Trav's salary gets slashed next year, and Aish and Howe are on not much.
The only way Essendope have more space than us is if they come to an agreement to give him a huge compensation payout, which allows them to pay him less as a salary. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

Apologies, you're correct. He was drafted onto their primary list.
199cm and 100kg, now he's over his injuries we could do worse than pick him up if Essendon do let him go. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Daw will be promoted onto the North Melbourne senior list next year. Goldstein has been overworked this season and has been suffering as a result the last couple of games. North are learning they need Daw as a backup. There's no way Daw will be released. |

I think our salary cap is just about reached and players like De Goey, Moore, Smoth and Maynard will have to be paid more as they get better. Essendon have already cleared out several senior players, so I would assume they have heaps of space in their salary cap. Hurley has already stated he wants to stay at Essendon next year. Can't see us getting him. We need to go for a player not on huge money such as Sam Reid at Sydney, who is more likely wanting to come and play for Collingwood. Then hope we can do a deal with Sydney who we don't have a good trading record with. If Swan retires at the end of the year that will that will clear some of our salary space. Also reducing Cloke's contract into next year as you state will save some money. |
