The future will be based around the following players:
Grundy
Treloar
Pendles
Sidey
Moore
De Goey
Adams
Aish
Scharenberg
Maynard
Ramsay
Reid
Langdon
Wills
Smith
Elliott
That's 16 players, which is not a bad core to build a Premiership team around. |

Particularly when you consider that there are another group on the fringe of that 16 who may or may not make it. |

The Ox is patient.
I'm going to go against the trend and also suggest Witts belongs in the list for our future.
He's 24 next month and his ruckwork and marking are coming on beautifully. The records are full of great ruckmen who didn't hit their straps til around 26. Witts will be a gun ruckman and I want that to be at Collingwood, not for some other club. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Tell me more about your long history of domesticating and abusing animals and yes things change. Why do you want that to be at Collingwood not for some other club? |

Well, a lot of people consider my proclivity toward pumping domesticated animals full of helium to be horrible and cruel.
I say, Meh, whatever floats your goat. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Witts be great Depth but He wants to be the Number 1 Ruck. He won't be that at Collingwood. So he is pretty much gone at seasons end _________________ I am Da Man |

Just asking all for assesment on Witts and Grundy
I know Brod's on the way to greatness but will it ever
work with these two in 22 ----if Cloke were to go would the
resting ruck in fwd pocket style work with Witts
Old school footy I know so be interested in comment _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Not if we are persevering with Cox. |

The real question is whether Collingwood is stupid enough to persevere with Cox instead of Witts when Witts is younger and much better. Who in their right mind trades a guy willingly when he's capable of getting 52 hitouts, 20 disposals and 2 goals in the VFL (he will do that at AFL level soon enough) and is still way-off peaking? Then again, I suppose this is the same football department that wanted to trade him to GWS and recruit Kreuzer (a player no Carlton supporter wants) in his place, so I guess the question answers itself. |

Yep, that's it for mine. I'd hazard a guess that Mummy wasn't putting up those sort of numbers when the Cats traded him to Sydney. Jolly either when he was traded to Sydney. Or Jacobs when the Blues traded him to the Crows.
I guess you can have an oversupply but Witts appears primed to hit his straps and moving him on (unless forced by him to do so) defies logic. |

I like Witts too, but I really can't see him getting a senior game while Grundy is going from strength to strength. Ideally, we would keep him as our reserve ruckman in case of an injury to Grundy, but that would be unfair to Witts. He deserves to be playing senior footy each week, but given Grundy's phenomenal improvement, that won't happen with us. Therefore, it would be best to trade him to another club where he can blossom as a first ruck. |
