No chance, it will go down with 2003 and 2011 as games I'll never watch again.
I went into that game with zero expectations as we were not the best let alone 2nd best team in 2018 and West Coast were a far superior outfit. Yet they did as they always do, tease you just enough before screwing it up.
Whilst the first qtr was great, once they let in those 2 late goals it was obvious the way the game was going. Yet instead of trying to keep taking the game on, Buckleys game plan was to try and hold on.
Even if Sheed misses the shot or the free was paid, they'd have probably still kicked another goal anyway |

We are sub par, don't get me wrong... we have an ok squad which is capable when fit, and Bucks has improved as a coach (mind you it's been a VERY long apprenticeship) but we're running out of time - We don't have much time left.

True, but Brisbane look miles above us in skill level tonight. It’s like an AFL team playing a VFL reserves outfit.

Does any other club play 3 Ruckmen in the team of which 2 might end up in the forward line?
And yet our game plan in the first half was short kicks backwards and side ways. Throw in handballs to someone worse than you and put them under pressure BUT make sure you don't kick it long - unbelievable.
I know we all like Cox given 2018 prelim but he doesn't hurt you even when the ball is delivered to him. My Western Star Butter is harder. Having 5-6-7 touches is not good enough.
And Elliot is not a midfielder. He is a forward player.
Last quarter was pretty good but lacking key forwards or playing to key forwards and that's where we lost it.
If we go into next year with no strong forward or 2, we will suffer again and Cox is not the answer and 3 Ruckmen in a team just doesn't cut it.
I'm no Coach but sometimes I just wonder (wouldn't mind 9 years and give it a crack AND as surely I've never played the game, it could be extended to 15 years as I would be considered favorably as 'in development'.

Harris Andrews was out of the game and we had to send Darcy forward to try and take advantage. How bad are our KPF going. Mihocheck had a nightmare and Cox despite 2 goals was largely ineffective. Effectively we were 2 down in the last as Lynch sat on the bench when Darcy went forward but remember it was his first game so what did we expect.
Our lack of recruiting is bitting us on the arse with the reliance of a combination of rookies as key targets. This is a mess built over years that will take years to fix.

I reckon Jamie has down pretty well in midfield. And he wasn't setting the world on fire up forward this year. |

Effectively made us choose between Ruscoe and Riccardi when we should have drafted both. It will take years to recover from that 2nd Beams trade.
