he was good tonight. you guys don't even notice how good De goey is. how could you possibly appreciate Blairs lesser talent. |
Agree, spent a lot of time on-ball Saturday night, worked his butt off. |

I thought he was good this week and considered him for votes in the GB medal.
Blair tries his guts out, but appears to be having more ball handling problems lately and is getting caught. Someone needs to take his place though and guys like Broomhead haven't been on the park to do so. |
I seem to recall Blair providing at least 3 goals assists this week. When we have someone else who can do that and kick a few himself, I expect we will play them. |
Credited with 2 but would have had at least twice that number if the player on the end of the passage of play didn't spray the shot on goal, Treloar at least twice for instance. |

I remember a guy smashing up the toilet at Vic Park after the 2003 GF and all he was saying was Leon Davis name in a bad way.
But I also remember his kick outs from a opposition point score in 2011... they were outstanding.
He was that sort of player. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Well, certainly the two Pendlebury goals - can't recall the other one, so you are probably right. And in truth, score assists might be a better measure of contribution than goal assists. Blair creates a lot of scoring, but doe snot score so many himself because he is too busy scrapping and getting the ball out with a handpass. He's not an outside player. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Blair is a decent player who should be retained for next season. He is not a Premiership player for no reason.
However, if we are to improve enough to be a genuine top team, then he is one of those whose spot needs to be taken by a better player. As it stands we do not have such a player. |

Our resident midget in the VFL L Ferguson is a slightly better player than the hobbit.
This argument that Blair is only there because there is no
one better is wrong. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

^ been saying the same thing for the last few years. When a better option becomes available, he'll lose his spot. |

How about Howe, Williams, Fas, Elliot, Broomhead, The Berg, Varcoe, Phillips, Goldsack, Crocker, Oxley, Smith, Langdon and a few others who could play the small/medium forward role better than Blair.
Remember he has 13 goals from 21 games this year.
Will he add to the tally this week?
Bound to get 1 which would make it 1 for the month of August. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Ferguson is not an AFL listed player, so can't play for us, so why mention him?
The issue is whether there is another small forward on our AFL list who is better than him? I don't think so. However, I've already said that we need to find/develop someone to replace Blair if we are to become a top side. |

I know Fergie isn't a AFL listed player.
Just shows how much I don't rate Blair.
We really really need to move on from Blair.
It is depressing watching him in the team. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |
