Yeah I don't share that view either, nothing against Adam personally and I wish him well at the Dogs... but.. one way runner, handballs too much, not worth 2 x pick 7's no matter how you spell it....

Also there is this article by Jake Niall (well known pies man) in regards to Brad Scott - it's not directly attributed to Collingwood but it outlines why Scott will be a genuine option for clubs searching for a new coach in the next year or so. Us most likely being one of them.

Only really works on the Age.. doesn't work on Hearld Sun or The Australian etc. Just close your browser every 5 articles you read and open a new browser in incognito mode and paste the link in.

There is a nice anti paywall plug in for chrome that works well on all major news sites. Just google it and there are instructions to install.

Brad Scott... I dunno.

He did his apprenticeship under MM here though. And when he left, I believe it hurt the club entering the finals series in 2009.

Brad Scott has coached only 4 more games than Buckley. With a winning % of 50.24% compared to Bucks' 55.56%.

Scott spent 10 seasons with North and resigned halfway through 2019. He currently ranks 3rd for most AFL/VFL games coached without making a grand final and is the only one of those three coaches to do it solely at the one club.

He made the finals 4 times in 10 seasons, making the PF's in 2014 and 2015.

His finals record in 4-4 and overall he is 106-105.

Some of the better players he had included; Goldstein, Tarrant, Harvey, Swallow, Petrie, Higgins, Brown, Cunnington, Dal Santo, Ferrito, Wells and Ziebell.

I would have liked to see Collingwood approach him for an assistant role for this year, but would he and Bucks get along? They were assistants together in 2009.

There were rumours about Scott coming to Collingwood in 2017.

My opinions on Scott are that he is a good solid, passionate coach and I agree it did hurt us in the long run losing him in 2009.

He has pros and cons.

Cons. He suffered serious burnout at North, but honestly can you blame him. Over all his W/L record is fairly average, as stated before just over 50% both in h&a and finals.

Pros. He at 1st appears to be fairly average but than we have to look at one very important factor here - he's only ever coached at one club and its North Melbourne we're talking about... not a big Club like the Pies. And his record earlier at North is pretty good, its after those two PF's that the wheels start to fall off when he's topping the side up (again we're talking North..), he than puts it to the board that he needs to actually rebuild the team (fair call imo) and he's ejected into outer space because the North Board were obviously delusional about where they were at.

The thing is both Lyon and B.Scott are experienced, fresh, and more importantly available. I don't see them as a burnt out Malthouse, Pagan or Eade..

Treloar wasn’t his call at all mate it was a list management decision and Buckley wasn’t part of that meeting in fact he’s been at arms length from list management for 12 months
There has been a behind the scenes adjustment in how things happen st the club in the past year
It’s no secret Eddie had handed Buckley absolute power and others decided that this system of empowerment wasn’t working and was actually harming the club
Decision making on list management and other alike issues become a consensus decision and not a coaches decision
Buckley as coach was told to speak to Treloar and tell him of the clubs decision and use the we think the separation from his partner as the reason
The lynch decision from what I understand come down to $$$$ only
We didn’t couldn’t or wouldn’t offer him the same terms as the tigers did
Now we can speculate that the money may or may not have been the sole reason he didn’t come to us
It’s easier to kick Buckley and say it’s his fault
To me the imbalance of power for several years has been the catalyst for our current position
One person was handed way to much power and made decisions based on personal feelings not what was best interest of the clubs long term future

Buckley told the lies, both to Adam and to the public

Give him a team that claims the MCG as their home

I am confident in this man

I watch Ross's segments on analysing play very studiously on Footy Classified. Although
I'm sure he knows what he is talking about, to me he communicates it in a rushed, broken, stilted sort of way. Not sure if this is just because he has a time constrained segment on TV or that's just his manner of communication. If the latter, it would probably need deciphering for younger players Smile

Handball, handball, handball long/blind kick to no one.

I have been saying it for years it’s a shit game plan but injuries was always the excuse. Well now with no injuries it’s there for all to see how bad we really are.
