As for the repeated snipes at Grundy, why don't you call up Scott and ask which side he'd rather have had Thor playing on in last year's Qualifying Final? |
They aren't snipes at Grundy. I believe he's way overpaid. So are many Collingwood players (but not to the tune of $7 million). Collingwood has a problem with overpaying many of its players. Supporter hysteria may be one factor in this problem. Supporters overrate all our players.
I don't expect a normal footballer to refuse millions of dollars if his club is willing to pay that much. (Players offering to take massive salary cuts is a big topic for another thread.) But of course it affects the team's performance because there is a salary cap. With no salary cap, the club can pay them as much as they want as long as they don't bankrupt themselves.
I grin and bear it when his hit outs go to the oppo, but it does my head in when his hit outs go to the opposition ruckman he's supposed to be competing against.
He does play well against Geebung, which is a good thing if we play them this finals. Cox plays well against Richmond, which is a good thing if we play them. And JdG plays well against WC, who we do play.
And you calling him "Thor" is truly cringeworthy.

Grundy got the contract he got because opposition clubs were offering more. |

Which oppo club offered more than $7+ million?
North offered Googs $5 million. That does not make him worth $5 million. |

Challenge to Treloar — get more kicks than the rest of the midfield’s combined handballs. Gotta raise the bar high. |

The point of the thread was to provide a pseudo message geared around "it's time to FRANK your career" and recruitment to the club with a memorable best on ground effective performance. No Steele, no Howe and a backs to the wall Perth roadtrip. 27 years of age, in the sweet spot of a midfielders prime and with no excuses. He is capable but shall he?? _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Is he capable? When has he ever turned a game with an act or piece of genuine brilliance? He just isn't that sort of player. |

Let's hope Adz doesn't read this thread. I am not sure whether it would inspire him, or jinx him. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Given his tendency for obsessional intrusions and behavioural compulsions I'd suggest the latter, unless the compulsion is a 30+ possession game that actually means something (goals, score involvements and inside 50s to advantage) _________________ "Hey Ma get off the dang roof!" |

My priority is achievable. Yours is not, except possibly in a commie country. |
