Yep, +2 to all comments above.
Always a touch sad to see a premiership player hang up his boots, but it may come as a bit of a relief to him?
Very happy that he managed a game or two this year. Thanks for being such a loyal servant to the Pies, which always counts for heaps in my book!! |

Best wishes to Ben Reid in retirement.
A Premiership player and All-Australian, and a great servant of the club. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

A Premiership Pie. Just think what he could have done if he not had all those injuries. Enjoy your retirement, Ben. _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

Remember him calving up opposition teams at CHB. He was fkn awesome. It's a real shame he struggled through injury for the bulk of his career after 2013.
He never reached that level again, and it raises the "what if" had he remained injury free.
I believe he has made the right call and hopefully we can get the win for him.
Thank you Ben Reid, All-Australian, 150 game player, Premiership hero. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Well done Ben Reid. A champion and a Collingwood Premiership player. With you going, I feel that an era is closing. Now only Pendles and Sidey remain from that Premership team (and Heater, of course). Always loved your brilliant defence for us. A colossus in our back line.
All the best for the future. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Congrats on a great career. The strength shown to rehab through so much adversity speaks volumes of the character and dedication to Collingwood you have shown. Those traits have earned a premiership and a place in supporters hearts for ever. |

It was genetic I think, because their father was a injury prone VFL player for Carlton. _________________ Social club member 7342 since 2000. |

Congratulations on your career,Ben,and all the best for your retirement. It’s a shame your body let you down so much, but at least you reached the pinnacle of the game, and you became a Collingwood premiership player. Not many people can say that. |

Well done on your career. A premiership immortal.
Still remember his early days playing as a forward and his stuttering run up which made Josh Kennedy’s stuttering run up look like poetry in motion. |

Thanks for the great service to our club!
I wonder if there's a role for Reid in the back of the club - he is a rehab specialist and could be great for anyone going through this. _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

The memories; remember his debut, I think it was against Carlton, played up forward and had that nervous stutter run up at goal; I remember thinking 'What have we got here?'.
Exploded in 2010 when played back, a Premiership hero.
Given the injuries his brother has had, the ole DNA might be a bit injury prone, and I reckon 150 games is a tremendous effort _________________ "You hate a mean man, a grasping man, a man who wants everything and gives nothing. That’s Collingwood. They are a law unto themselves"
