Oh, Thanks so much K. This was so beautiful, and so apposite.
Quick send in the clowns
Don't bother,
They're here
Where r the clowns?
There ought to be clowns,
Well maybe next year.
I am sure they will be here next year as well. Makes life endurable when you love the Pies. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Coached and developed by the toughest mongrel who ever played, it's difficult to categorise any member of that team who didn't meet the criteria.
Who didn't meet the criteria? In their own individual way?
If not, the coach wouldn't have played them. |
Let’s not forget Daniher, he played a big part in spurring the team on!!

Darren Millane was our last really, really, tough guy player, as was his mate, Dennis Banks, real hard mongrels, we don't have that now, most Premiership teams have a real hard bastard in them. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Leigh Brown was also very tough. Will never forget his bump on Jordan Lewis which almost certainly won us the 2011 Preliminary. Since then, we have beaten Dawkthorn I believe only once. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Greenwood and Maynard are the closest to mongrel we have got at the moment.
I think the loss of Greenwood for the prelim was just about as big a loss as JDG. He sets a standard for going in hard for the ball and going hard at the man.
His recent takedowns of Selwood emphasises his importance to us _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

I agree |
As do I, but i will add that the 3rd quarter was more then just: "ïf we had Greenwood"
the whole team mentally switched off, which for a side coming off a break, playing a team with a raft of injuries and having coming off a bruising game the week before, says to me the team has demons from last years GF stuck in their head....they have to sort it out or risk becoming a Geelong or Port where you just accept losses in finals....they are too good to allow that to happen...at least I hope. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

He's a free agent, he goes where he wants no trade required

Toby will be a premiership hero next week, and we'll forever be the villains who cost him a spot in the prelim. |

The bottom line is, whether people want to face up to it or not, our elite midfielders in Pendles, Treloar and Sidey were beaten by less talented players, who played a harder brand of football. The same thing happened in last year's Grannie.
I'm not saying we need dirty players, but we need to play a harder, tougher, more physical brand of footy if we want to win Premierships. History shows the hardness and physicality goes up a notch in September, and for too long, we have been found wanting in this area at the wrong end of the season.
Please Collingwood, no more Mr nice guys. |

If i was in charge of list management I would be looking at picking up Hugh Greenwood in a trade with Adelaide.
F50 pressure is amazing, in 2018 he had 145 tackles and 98 clearences at half forward.
191cm 92kg
With Varcoe possibly done at Collingwood, this will be an (upgrade) on Travis
Maybe, just maybe, We could get Jenkins & Greenwood for Scharenberg & Broomhead. We would prob have to throw something else in as a make weight but i think that will really help the forward line out next season. _________________ The Artist Formerly known as... |
