Fantastic win in Sideys 200th.
Amazing that we continue to win whilst continuing to get injuries.
Big last quarter from Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Cox and De Goey.
Crisp is in the top 3 for Copeland....unbelievably hasn’t really been mentioned for AA. _________________ - Side By Side -

The best part was when Goddard was burnt to a CRISP! _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

A really impressive win. Keep finding a way despite the injuries.
The "high scoring" Essendon kept to just 9 goals We didn't even bother sending Mihocek back. That's how little we were concerned about their dud talls. Kicked a few goals, but almost all of them over the back on the counter.
JDG was superb. Killed the Bombers both forward and back. Cox, Pendles and Sidey were huge in the last. Just a great, gritty win. _________________ Well done boys! |

Absolutely!! A magnificent, spirited win by an undermanned side. All players played their heart out. So many game -saving moments in that last quarter and some brilliant play.
Geez, I'm so proud of our boys. |

Well if we can put on a good showing over the next 4 weeks we'll know exactly where we are at.
If we can 2/4 we'll be contenders.

It was just great wasn't it.
Felt so sad for young Appleby. He was nearly in tears on the bench.
Footy gods - give us a break!!!! You owe us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Allow us to get Moore, Jamie and Varcoe back, just to name a few and let them play out of their skins. Allow WHE to just have a minor knee injury and come back for us when it matters. |

I thought umpires would ruin it by squaring up the ledger, but the boys kept digging in against the odds. However I am concerned about how we are going to fall away eventually because of injuries. Give me a break.
Very good win on a tuff and cold day playing a well structured team that has been flying the past 6 weeks. Sick a fat one bloopers. _________________ no second chances |

Notice how the umps gave them a few gimmies after we were legitimitely up on the frees, just to even things out. Was getting ridicilous at one stage.
Seems our game plan stands up regardless of the personell.
Big Cox: Name another big man who has been this impactful in their second year playing the game. Deserves all his accolades and more |

I am overawed by thos win, with so much stacked against us. An injury list longer than that of anyone else, and WHE injured and restricted for three quarters. An absolutely gut wrenching, magnuficent win, Pies. Mason Cox, you are becoming a star, and very fast. I just hope we have some luck with WHE, and pray to the Gods of Football that his injury is not a severe one. We just need some luck to run our way, and who knows what is possible. Well done Pies. So proud of our guys tonight. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

It was far from a polished performance with to few putting in a 4 quarter game but we hung in there and saved our best for the last quarter.
A special mention to Adams whose desperate lunge at the Essendon player streaming through the center square in the last quarter effectively killed off their hopes of victory.
It was an inspirational act and an example of why he gets a game. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

So proud of this great team, led by our great coach.
Side by side is not just a few words, it's in our DNA. Pendles, Grundy, Sidey, Coxy, Crisp, Howe and of course De Goey were our magnificent seven today.
When WHE went off injured I honestly thought we were gonski. Hard to see him not missing a few weeks, but the fact he was able to play out the game, with a limp however, suggests he may just miss 2-3 weeks. Here's hoping he's OK.
Congratulations Pies. Well done. |
