But your middle name is "Goody Two Shoes" Donny. You're not like US.

I'll bet your favourite films are Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. Wink Laughing

  39. Hawthorn - a tough, nasty team that always makes us work for a win
  40. Port - the poor man's St Kilda, all the bile with even less excuse
  41. Western Bulldogs - what Jack said - "useless wannabes"
  42. West Coast - I like them now - seeing them win a spoon is a genuine delight!
  43. Fremantle - always used to be a crappy team of undisciplined chokers. Have now morphed into a crappy team of undisciplined chokers.
  44. Ninthmond - love, repeat love to see them finish in their proper place - ninth!
  45. Melbourne - prime A-class wankers
  46. Adelaide - don't much care about them either way
  47. North Melbourne - loudmouth crude supporters. Both of them. An irrelevant side, really.
  48. Geelong - I almost like Geelong. Almost. But I can't stand Stokes, Chapman, Ling, Scarlett, Hawkins, Mooney, and about 8 others. Let's just say I like them best when they are finishing in the bottom half of the ladder.
  49. Sydney - shrug. I don't mind Sydney. Admired a few of their players over the years - Paul Kelly, Captain Kirk, our own Willow, Micky O'Loughlan, Adam Gioodes, and one or two others. But especially Kelly. I still miss him.
  50. Essendon - have always liked the Dons. My other team. Cheer them on 20 times a season - and love to beat them on Anzac Day even more than most Nicksters. Smile

Damn you need therapy mate lol..

All that hate for a club that has not even really troubled the records is disturbing to say the least.

1. Carlton. 1970, 1979, George Harris, John Elliot ...
2. St Kilda. John Greening.
3. Weagles. Fake team with an American name. California. pfft
4. Brisbane. Salary cap heroes. pfft again.
5. Hawthorn. The real toffs team, with a jumper that looks like a smashed violet crumble. urggh.

6. The rest, except the Roos, who my old man played for in 1950, so I have to retain some sympathy as long as the Pies are not playing them.

TEAMS I HATE:

1. Brisbane: Voss. Brown. Fevola. 2002, 2003. Would have loved to see them clinch the spoon this year. I actively barracked for Port Power in the 2004 grand final, and that's saying something.
2. Carlton: I suppose we have to, and yes, I still have some scars from R.18 2000. Also, even though I'm too young to remember anything football-related pre-late-'90s, reading about 1970, 1979, George Harris and so on, it's hard not to feel a little bit of retrospective hate. Still, their overall uselessness over the past decade has softened my feelings towards them somewhat.
3. Port Adelaide: Arrogant, and South Australian. What's there to like? I felt like boxing Warren Tredrea's ears after he bowed to the crowd in the 2007 preliminary final. Quite happy to see them done by Geelong the week after (it should have been us!). Also, my rather unfriendly manager at Ezydvd was a Port supporter.

TEAMS I DON'T HATE:

Adelaide: Never really had any feelings towards them one way or another. I like the fact that we tend to beat them in finals matches.
Essendon: I know, I know. And yes, back at the start of the decade I loathed them along with all the kids who jumped on the bandwagon because they were winning every week. And yet, over the last couple of years, I find myself perversely liking them. Even on Anzac Day 2009, the blackest football experience in recent times, I couldn't help but grudgingly respect their fighting spirit.
Fremantle: It's hard to hate a team that is so consistently useless. I wouldn't mind seeing them win a flag one day, but I'm not sure if I'll be alive in 2150.
Geelong: I love to see Geelong c 2010 lose, but that's only because they're such a good team (although there are a few players I can't stand). Truth be told, Geelong were my second team of sorts as a kid, and up until the last few years I would always be happy to see them do well. I can't quite muster the same loathing I felt for Brisbane in their flag-winning period.
Hawthorn: Probably only a good season away from joining the first list. Can't stand Franklin, and I took a lot of pleasure from seeing them collapse in 2009-2010. "Mildly dislike" might be a better term for them.
Melbourne: This will upset 3rd Degree, but they're probably the closest thing I have to a second team these days. Perhaps it's my tendency to support the underdog, combined with their stunning incompetence over the last 46 years, but I like to see them win now and then. Having said that, the Queen's Birthday draw pissed me off no end.
North: They're still in the AFL, right? I tend to forget their existence these days.
Richmond: Like the poor little street urchin that you can't help but feel sorry for. Sure, he sometimes comes up and kicks you in the shins or steals your money, but overall you just want to give him a hug.
St. Kilda: I know the Greening incident is like a red rag to most Nicksters, but I find it difficult to hate a whole club because of it. It was one low act by one player 38 years ago. As for the intervening time period, St. Kilda to me is the club that has only ever won one flag and blown a decade's worth of opportunities. I don't really feel sorry for them, but at worst the only thing I feel towards them is ambivalence.
Sydney: I used to absolutely hate Sydney as a kid (a bit because of Lockett, a bit because us Canberrans were expected to love them because of our relative geographic 'proximity'), but the tide has turned. I was happy to see them win the flag in 2005, and I actually enjoy the hard, low-scoring style of play that has been developed under Roos. The fact that they're our bunnies also endears me to them somewhat. Rhyce was one of my favourite players with us, too.
West Coast: Liked seeing them lose back in the 2005-2006 period, but without Cousins and Judd they're a bit of a shell of a team. Would have much preferred the Lions to finish last this year, so I was sorry to see them lose last week.
Western Bulldogs: I love it how Annodam hates them so much. Can't say I have any real opinion over the Bulldogs. Never really liked them, but wouldn't be sorry to see them win a flag sometime (as long as it's not this year!).
