Also his article mainly just talks out of his arse, doesnt provide any new insight and is just plain meaningless in spots:
Scotty Burns, with his crash-and-bash approach, is about the only constant in a rotation that includes Dane Swan, Shane O'Bree, Scott Pendlebury, Ben Johnson, Tarkyn Lockyer, Rhyce Shaw and Marty Clarke, plus the small forwards. And more.
What does he means Burns is the 'only constant'? Does he mean he is the only one consistently in the midfield? Because O'Bree and Swan are clearly in the midfield as often. Does it mean he is constantly in the midfield? Because old man Burns (bless him) spends as much time resting on the pine i.e. away from the midfield, as any of our players. Does it mean his performances are the most even? Because Swan wracks up touches much more evenly. It is just gibberish. |

So he has come to the conclusion that we have a good small forward line.
Rocket scientist. Genius.
He hasnt taken into account the absence of Rocca or Sydney's run home. Not an overly researched article other than stating a few obvious facts.

It's funny, isn't it. One minute half of Nick's is pissed off because no one writes or talks about us enough, and when they do, they don't rate us highly enough. Then when they do write about us, even if they DO rate us highly, we can't trust their opinions anyway because they're only pumping our tires up and setting us up to fail. Then add in a whinge and a grump about how badly written it is for good measure! I love it!

Badly written, yes, but still some good and valid points and not a bad article. The finals series opens up for us very nicely if we finish 4th. It's all in our hands if we're good enough.

Yes well, I guess the Umps had nothing to do with it .....
it was the AFL in full swing, is the way I saw things:
in the 1st Q, 10 frees to North, 2 to us, in a match where both teams were switched-on, nothing short of criminal damage by the whistling threesome.
It's punishment by the AFL about the so-called jumper clash.
How North can come into the comp 50yrs after us, wear pale pale blue, then morph into more like a royal blue, and then argue clash of colours against us, is beyond logic
