No mention of it on SEN where Greg Swann is currently being interviewed. |

I'd suspect they, like us, are awaiting confirmation from a reputable source. |

True Dale, the rumour may involve martians and ufo's for all we know...we just gotta wait for the police or press to release a statement. |

I think it should be pointed out that the "Lilydale incident" and the "Divvy Van" are two totally seperate things and should not be confused
The "Divvy Van" a 3AW rumour file most likely rubbish - but the "Lilydale incident" did occur (obviously) whether or not it has a link to us is yet to be proven and probably won't come out for awhile yet due to the legal aspects |

Guys stop this...they confirmed it on 3AW that is was not a problem, the car slipped on tram tracks and slightly tapped an off duty policemans car...there was NO damage. No report has been made the the club said there is absolutely nothing to worry about! OK! |

There seems to be 2 incidents, one that happened Monday morning where a car allegedly driven by a Pie player skidded on tram tracks and went into the back of a Police Van on the way to training and the fatal drag race this afternoon. It seems the 1st one is getting mixed up with the 2nd one, nothing to worry about |

The first incident: On monday Travis Cloke had a very minor accident on his way to training. He skidded on tramtracks and the only damage to either car was a cracked number plate cover to his car. Speed was not an issue, just wet roads early in the morning.
sen confirmed the 1st incident on radio.
The second incident: Police are investigating whether a second car was involved in a fatal crash in Melbourne's outer east this afternoon.
A 33-year-old Wandin North man and a 22-year-old Traralgon woman were killed when their Ferrari sports car hit a tree on the side of the Warburton Highway at Lilydale.
Senior Constable Bradi Owens says they believe another car was in the area at the time.
"Police are appealing to any witness to the collision to come forward, in particular police would like to speak to the occupants of a late model silver Ford sedan with orange racing stripes that was seen in the area prior to the collision," he said.

I think the 2 incidents are getting confused together.
First incident as reported EARLY TODAY...... pies player's car slipping in the wet on tram tracks ...... nobody injured, slight damage to the car, speed NOT involved.
Second incident as reported (and occurred) LATE TODAY ...... Ferrari slams into tree near Wandin and 2 people killed. Police looking for Ford with distinctive orange stripes.
The two incidents ARE NOT related, but as both were reported today, it appears that the rumour mill has mixed them up _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

Basically the second incident it seems to come down to the fact that the Ford involved is one of a very similar nature to what a current player drives coupled with the fact that the Ford driving current player lives out that way
May just be sheer complete coincidence and 3AW who reported this afternoon about the accident "Eddie won't be happy" may just be getting their wires crossed between the first incident and the second incident |
