You thought it was Jonesy was a practitioner of the art of auto-eroticism? That wasnt my intention. |

lol, yes the swear filter is fun isn't it..... you can't say prick either so you talk about getting a prick from a needle or anything like that (see, the word i had was prik -with a c-, and knob doesn't work in all instances, and i actually find the word knob more offensive than prik - with a c for the other instance!) _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

I was having a play with the swear filter the other week. Just added that for a giggle. was in a dilemma as to use Carl or Ess for that one.
If you've got any other word replacement ideas, I'm sure the mods would be only to happy to consider their merits. |

Can't argue with that, Alf.
I love the show, and it really should have another year in it. Still rates very well, and is far better than Headland - does it rate? I doubt it. |

Very sad to see Blue Heelers go - I thought the new episodes were not too bad. Thought Amy's character was great and Tom Croydon was sensational.
Now all that is left in terms of quality Police Shows is The Bill.

About 12 years too late in my opinion!
Only good thing about that show was the theme music. Go Tex.
Give me Wildside any day. |

I wonder how the final episode will end up? Will there be a dramatic conclusion to the program, or will it be business as usual? |

It was Home and Away I think. 10 had it and didn't want it. Or 7 had Neighbours, either way. _________________ There is just one team we favour... |

surprising it lasted 6 months without being axed, not to mention 21 years... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

iirc, only thing that saved Neighbours was that BBC funded it pretty much. Don't think Blue Heelers sells internationally. As Ch 7 can use football as part of it's Australian content percentage, it's sayonara to the cops. I'd expect Ch 9 will probably have to beef up its local content as it doesnt have the football anymore. I'd expect some crappy game show or 'reality' TV (where the suckers using their mobile phones to vote pays for the content) to fill the void. Considering Ch 9 can use RL to fill aussie content in NSW & Qld, I wouldn't be expecting them to be lashing out the moolah to produce some 'quality' drama! |

LD, I've never heard of the BBC actually putting money into neighbors, although international sales certainly offset production costs. It's why Headland survives today.

I've read that they filmed 2 "final" episodes, one for continuation of the series, one for conclusion of the series.

I would like to have 1% of the money this show has made for Ch10 over the years. Like it or not, has been a godsend for a network that traditional has finished last in the surveys. |

Whilst they may not put money dircetly into production costs (and have it credtied as a co-production, as they do with some HBO stff, for example), I'd be fairly certain they'd at least signed a contract with the producers (Grundy?) guaranteeing $x for y shows....which is effectively the same thing. |
