So we finish our season here:
Jordan De Goey - Hamstring. Was a chance to come in had we beaten GWS. Will have a full pre season and be ready for round 1.
Isaac Quaynor - Foot. Took part in the training hit out and will also be ready for round 1 after a full pre-season.
Will Kelly - Hamstring. Almost back to full training. Will be ready for round 1.
Levi Greenwood - Knee. This one is our worst. Levi will not be able to train during the pre-season and will miss most of the 2020 season. Hopefully we see him some back Goldsack style.
Mason Cox - Eye. Will be fine for round 1.
Dayne Beams - Hip/Shoulder. Bit of an unknown. Hopefully he is recovering well.
Lynden Dunn - Knee. With Goldsack and Wells already calling it a day, Dunn could be next. He has been running and making his way back to full training. Has made it clear he wants to go again, but we'll have to see.
Tom Langdon - Knee. Another unknown. We missed him in the second half of the year. I think he should be ok early in 2020, but have not heard anything.
Next year I might start a new thread. One, so i can update the title when news breaks. And two, we've got that stupid merged thread problem where it shows an extra page, but when you click it, it stuffs up. I guess you could say the injury thread is injured. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I had a chat to a friend at training on Thursday whose son is friends with Tom.
Tom is very happy with the way his knee has come up after the operation.
Was very down when his season came to a halt as he had hoped that rehab and rest would get it right (operation was last resort as he knew it would definitely end his 2019)
He is back doing light running and should be OK to commence pre-season _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Bennell's warning to superstar Pie after Germany trip
https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-09-22/bennells-warning-to-superstar-pie-after-germany-trip
"HARLEY Bennell has offered a warning to Collingwood superstar Jordan De Goey not to rush his recovery after his trip to Germany to see the man known as 'Healing Hans'.
...
Former Docker and Sun Bennell made the same trip in December 2016...
"I felt really good after it when I got back, for a month or two, but then we ramped the weights up a bit too quick in my rehab and I got another little nick, which I wasn't too happy about," Bennell told AFL.com.au." |

We have some posters calling for an external review into our injury crisis.
How many of our players injuries could be attributed to or prevented by better training management?
Does anyone know how our record with soft tissue injuries compares? Collision injuries, knees and flukes like Cox's eye injury clearly can't be prevented by smarter training.
Both Elliot and Moore had vastly improved physical capability than last year, which hopefully suggests we've improved our management in that area. So do we have a problem or is it perception? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Those are some of the questions the external review should try to answer. |

I've completed the review and have concluded that we are doing fine on the soft tissue injury front.
Collision/trauma injuries are simply hit and miss. |

TP, before you pay up in your brown paper bag, you should ask for proof of his hard work and dedication.
I found this photo of Rudey doing his review, but unfortunately his face is obscured:

BKF the issue with the plan starts with Langdon is busted and is rumoured to have been offered medical retirement already so no club will want him regardless of the price

QM, DB's post contradicts that rumour. |

FWIW as it’s been mentioned a couple of times -His vision would have been fine this year. It would have had zero impact on his performance. |
What are your thoughts on the claim both retinas were torn, one of them a long time before being found when the other one was this year? Cox repeated this himself on TV a couple of weeks ago. How likely does this sound to you (that he wouldn't know he had a torn retina for months)? |
Very possible - you don’t feel it and you don’t necessarily have symptoms. |
Okay, thanks. It'd be puzzling if the player got confused about his own diagnosis, but other posters here said they have had torn retinas and there was no way they could not have known about it. |

Poor bugar. It's incredible he didn't lose his mind, not being able to do anything at all. He must have listened to a lot of music, podcasts etc. |
