This. it’s all about dollars, the players want their pampered salaries, and the AFL. Have to satisfy Foxtel so they keep their money for propping up teams that should disappear since they clearly can’t survive on their own.

Heard Eddie this morning, the Governments won't say anything publicly or put any pressure on the competition, but behind the scenes Fed and state governments are keen for the AFL to go ahead.

One of the unfortunate impacts of the coronavirus lockout is that a whole host of young players who have dreamed of playing their first AFL game since they were kids kicking the footy around in their backyard will be making their debut not only without family and friends looking on in the stands, no one will be.
It will be a memorable experience but not the memorable one they would have been hoping for.
Hopefully all will eventually get the opportunity to play in front of a packed stadium for the first time.

cry me a river. they will get to play for their family eventually. meanwhile a little 6 year old with a couple of months to live has had her make a wish party cancelled. eventually might not happen for her. The are dementia sufferers not getting their visits, little old ladies wondering where they will get their essentials, and if they will live til christmas.
perspective, i love footy, but right now its not in my top 5

Not every post on this forum needs to be based against the doom and gloom of the coronavirus and especially so outside of the VPT.
So back to the football.....
I do wonder if no crowds will have more impact on sides that contain more peacocks.
By peacocks I mean players in the mould of de Goey who want the ball in their hands in the big moments and tend to feed off the attention of a big crowd.
Just a thought.
