Today's paper revealed that Hawthorn wanted Thomas, but had to settle for Ellis after Collingwood's pick. Enough said!

You blokes are astounding….

Go Dale Thomas. May you be the reincarnation of Darren Milliane with the sublime skill of Peter Daicos, the tenacity of Tony Shaw and the magnetism of Nathan Buckley.

The next 10 years of my life and my hopes and dreams depend on you.

EG - you must replace teh sarcasm with optimism.

DH has shown over the last 2 drafts that he is very astute and capable at picking the best cattle for the Pies.

None of the 2005 draft will be expected to jump in and play senior football in 2006 as long as we don't have the injury problems of 2005 again.

Look at the extra's from last year - Pebbles fit, Taz fit, Josh fit, Dids fit and Bux has suffered from that torn tissue for the last 3 seasons and we saw in the last 5 games how he could play - when unrestricted.

Then include Rusling, Shaw, Davies and Egan to be pushing for selection.

Our biggest improvers in 2006 will be Taz, C3, C2, Josh, Bux, Lonie and Dids - with the surprises being Fred and Tex.

We can afford to be very careful with the new crop and they will have to force their way into the team.

There are other non tangibles they bring -
All Victorians,
All WANT to play for the Pies,
All are proven players with no injury scares.

Thomas will be a very good performer and SP has the ability to be our version of Pav - but they will need nurturing and time.

This is precisely why Richo has been hired as the nursery manager.

2006 will be a very good year but 2007 will be a vintage year.

Lazza who in Collingwoods midfiels is better than "Campo"?

Why do Collingwood & most other clubs 'tag"' Campo when playing against him?

Which midfielder at Collingwood gets 'tagged' by oppotion teams?
