Trading Brodie Grundy, is not the words I want to hear from you. https://youtu.be/UrIiLvg58SY?t=33
But what if he askes to be traded and this becomes a reality?
Both Port and the Crows would be very keen to get Grundy back to his home state. As we know Port drafted his younger brother last year.
Adelaide:
With Jacobs coming to the end, the Crows have found Reilly O'Brien, a solid looking ruckman from Victoria.
O'Brien would probably have to be a part of a trade. He's 23 but not as experienced as other ruckmen going around. He is looking pretty good at the moment, but has only played 13 AFL matches.
Jake Kelly is a player we could have taken a few years back. He is doing really well in Adelaide, but had we drafted him, you'd think he would be in our best team by now, but he does play a similar role to Scharenberg. I do want to get Kelly over, but gee whizz, we should have drafted him when we had the chance.
The Crows seem fairly desperate to get rid of Gibbs too, a player we have zero interest in. But the Crows would be willing to get rid of him by paying a decent part of his wage. We'd want another older midfielder right? Maybe he'll end up at the Power?
The Crows will have Carltons first round pick, which will be pick 1 or 2 depending where they finish on the ladder. They will also have a pick around the early teens you'd think once the season is over.
So Adelaide have some picks and players to deal with if they were to pursue Grundy this year.
Port Adelaide:
Have a big need for a ruckman with Ryder on the way out. Lycett is going ok for them but they'd be desperate to get Brodie on their list.
Ryder is a free agent and could cover the loss of BG for one season. But there are also other older ruckmen available in the FA pool.
I cant really see a player that Port would be willing to trade that we'd be interested in and their first pick will be in the early teens somewhere you'd think.
Let's hope it doesnt come to this and BG decides Collingwood is his home. But one positive from trading Grundy would be the certainty to hold onto Moore and JDG when their contracts are up in 2020. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!

You would want 1 top 5 pick and a top 10 pick and a decent player.
That sounds right. |

For an offer of 5 first round picks and you'd have to think about it for a bit (before, of course, rejecting it). |

By "5 first round draft picks" I assume you mean picks 1 to 5.
For that, I'd consider it. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

If someone offered us a Mike Ditka type of trade, we'd have to take it.
It went down like this:
Traded to New Orleans
1999 first round pick (5th overall, Ricky Williams)
Traded to Washington
1999 first round pick
1999 third round pick
1999 fourth round pick
1999 fifth round pick
1999 sixth round pick
1999 seventh round pick
2000 first round pick
2000 third round pick _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

If we could somehow get James Stewart in that deal we would be the winners. |

With Brodie if he considered a change it’s $$$$$ or he actually does want to return to his home of birth
The latter may not be a $$$ solution but if it’s $$$ we would need to see the culling / natural attrition and how that shakes the money tree
But we ain’t at that and only reacting to media murmer and the mans veiled admission that he thinks of home

Both Crouch brothers and Sloane would make me consider it, but I'd still not trade Grundy _________________ "Hey Ma get off the dang roof!" |

If BG asks to be traded, it's not up to us. Of course you wouldnt trade him by choice.
O'Brien, the Carlton pick, their first round pick and Jake Kelly for Grundy & our 2nd round pick.
Thats the price Crows. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Five number 1 draft picks in one year, plus 5 the following year. |
