We lost by about 4 goals but were completely outplayed.
Coxy and Iles were both pretty good but as a whole it was a pretty ugly performance. |

Isn't it amazing what happens when BOTH teams are near full strength, rather than one team being made up entirely of local kids, and the other with a dozen (or so) AFL regulars.

Thoolan injured his ankle. Not sure how serious. Was on crutches at the end of the game. |

I would say it's the first time then that the geniune VFL side has played together, so I would say the result might not be all that bad.
It seems to me you want the pies to lose (and I fully respect your long links with Williamstown at VFL level, and I think you know that), but surely outside of the obvious couple of games a year you would want to see the Pies do well?
I think it's fair to say that it will take a few weeks for the team to gel as a unit, and every other club would have an advantage over the Pies in that respect. |
