Cam Smith shot rounds of 67, 65 & 67 to be 11 under in the Fedex St. Jude Championship.

He's just 2 off the leader. A win in this tourney would see him ranked #1 in the World.

Adam Scott is 7 under and Cam Davis, 5 under.

Marc Leishman had a poor 3rd round, to be 3 over.

Jason Day missed the cut.

"Given that current world No.1 Scottie Scheffler missed the cut, a victory would see Smith move ahead and become just the fourth Australian to ever reach the summit of the Official World Golf Rankings.

“That would mean a lot,” Smith said of the prospect of becoming the No.1 player in the world, joining Greg Norman, Adam Scott and Jason Day as the only Aussies to achieve the feat."

Not the start Smithy wanted - an o/night 2 stroke penalty for an illegal drop.

Never got into it, after that.

Adam Scott did best of the Aussies, on 11 under. Tied for 5th.
