With all the doom and gloom around here, Madge’s big game on the wing (and Buckley thinking outside the box to play him there) deserves a bit of credit. I’m not really a Madgen fan, but full credit to him. |

He's not a part of the long term plans going forward, but I appreciate the effort he puts in. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Yeah, it was an interesting move. Magden showed some fantastic attributes I didnt know previously that he had. i get the impression though that such a move is a tactic rather than any kind of strategic move. If you keep doing it, the opposition will quickly find a way to nullify it. I think though we should consider playing Magden in a different way, to exploit the qualities he does have. Some of his charging forays last night were exhilarating, and i loved the way he sidestepped brilliantly a few opposition players attempting to tackle him. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Excellent. A moment of joy in a very ordinary night. Kicked better than some of our forwards. _________________ 'MADE IT LEGENDARY' |

Madgen continues to be a decent player. Far too many knock him yet he delivers regularly. Not much flair but he can mark, run, kick straight, has a cool head and a bit of dash; a lot of qualities absent in too many of our players. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

I thought he was ok.
But kicking into the forward line was the usual collingwood way.
We need a guy like Daicos who can actually hit a target there. |

If Bucks realizes just how close to the wind he is sailing, we might see Darcy down forward sooner than later. The Lions certainly worked out how to avoid him and other teams could start to do that too. |

^ imo he's now even less likely to take chances - he can't afford to lose so his mind will 'default' to defensive measures - its the death of a thousand cuts (which also proves he's not ever going to walk... must be sacked...). _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Could we try Magden up forward?
He can take a mark, is mobile and knows how to defend. Takes pressure off Brody and Cox. Let's not forget that Brody came as a defender and has become our most effective tall forward.
Magden can take WHEs spot so we can bring in more run.
Drop Thomas and C Brown.
Try a mix of Macrae, McInnes, Poulter, Rantall and bring back T Brown |

Gleeson:
"Actually, to say he played on the wing is misleading. He played there in the sense that he stood on a wing until the ball was bounced, then he ran off diagonally, away from his man and the ball, and trotted towards the half-back line. Still, this year Collingwood is playing a defensive wingman, a player that helps them stop other teams scoring but does little to help Collingwood score." |
