So I assume you were saying that when Grundy was consdidered the best ruckman in the AFL Rolling Eyes

I thought that Grundy was the second best ruckman in the comp for a while, behind Gawn, but then two seasons ago he made a large leap and overtook Gawn. I considered him then to be clearly the best ruckman (for one season) but I really wouldn't think it appropriate to credit Pebbles for that. Grundy then had, and still has, below par rucking skills when compared to Gawn and some others. Those skills aren't the most valuable though as he compensated by nullifying his opponent when contesting with them and then beat them by getting around the ground better than his opponents could. That's an inherent physical characteristic, not something that was taught to him by a former key forward who didn't have great aerobic capacity.

Interesting; he was working as a financial advisor on the Gold Coast, until he had his license revoked a year or so back...

Think I would prefer snagging Dean Cox from the Weagles. Grundy and him are like for like.

Prefer Sandilands, teach Grundy to play like a huge physical giant.

How much better would he have been with a "proper" ruck coach teaching him actual ruck craft, not simply a beast around the ground.
