I think that's David's version of capital punishment.

You're strapped to a chair and forced to watch his movie choices until you lose the will to live. Wink

Yep, that's it. Laughing

I normally hate Hollywood remakes but this one isn't too bad. Still not as good as the original with Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent, but it's ok.

One of my favourite films, Bullitt, was on last night so I watched again and was reminded of the brilliant cinematography, acting and soundtrack. And of course, that chase scene! Great film.

I watch a few of the different car restoration reality shows. Couple of months back I watched one where these guys made a replica of the mustang from that movie at request of Steve McQueen's son and they filmed a remake of that car chase scene.

Here's some of it

Thunderstruck (2012 film)
Starring NBA player Kevin Durant. Watched with a couple young NBA fans on Netflix. As an NBA fan, I was pretty weary of this. I guess it's alright for a kids movie, but nothing overly special. The typical case of a sports star losing his powers and an unpopular high school kid gets them.

The Matrix (1999)
We went back to watch this one. Hadn't seen it in almost 20 years. It's held up alright. Loved that Damian from home and away was the first to cark it. Also after all these years, I kept a look out for Ada Nicodemou. Will be re-watching the sequels soon, but recall not enjoying the third one at the time.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Not very good. Had never seen the first one until recently and enjoyed that one. Second one was ok. But this one stinks. It had the potential to be a great sequel, but it just lacks something.

Oddball (2015)
I thought it was great. It's one of those films where you recognise half the cast from other things, including the guy that was Napoleon in Bill and Ted.Laughing A happy-ish dog film with one or two darker turns.

Nuns on the Run (1990)
Starring Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane. Found in the salvo store for $1. I remember it from when I was a kid and thought for a dollar, thats a good buy. Turns out the whole film is on youtube.

Love it.

How long does it take to shave those legs?

Mrs WPT & I saw “The Dry” tonight. A ripper of a film. Great film, acting, writing: the kit and caboodle. Worth going to the cinema for if you want a change from the TV

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)
Starring Dwayne Johnson and Jack Black. I was pleased to find out that it is in fact a sequel to the Robin Williams film from 1995. I thought it was very good. and would watch it again. Will look forward to watching the sequel, but it isn't on Netflix atm.

Christopher Robin (2018)
Starring Ewan McGregor. Set in the 1940s-50s in the Winnie-the-Pooh universe, after Christopher Robin has become an adult. I was almost expecting a Hook like film. And I was surprised to see it set in the 40s rather than in todays world. But they've tried to keep it in the timeline of the real Christopher Robins life. I didnt love it, but I thought it was ok. I never watched Winnie the Pooh growing up, so I didnt have that nostalgic attachment to it. But I do know the characters and such. I found Winnie a bit irritating at times tho.

National Treasure (2004)
Starring Nicolas Cage. An adventure film that I could have imagined loving if I was a pre-teen. A follow the clues around the world toned down Nathan Drake-like adventure. A Disney film that you're not supposed to think too much about the plot holes. I liked it. Watching the sequel soon.

The Lion King (2019)
I just... didnt really like it. It felt political. Casting Beyonce as Nala was a huge error. She cannot act and she cannot voice act. And she's had a new song thrown in too. I was disappointed. It lacked fun and adventure and to be frank, felt rather dragged out and got boring.

Aladdin (1992) and (2019)
We watched the Aladdin live action remake after watching the '92 animation film. I have mixed feelings about the new one. If only Robin Williams was still around, would he have taken on the role? That would have been fun. I dont think Will Smith did a bad job, they just went a different direction. The new one lacks the cultural references and I thought they missed a good one when dressing Aladdin as a Prince when they could have referenced The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, how fitting. It's a different type of humor. I guess I didnt hate it, its alright, and it's far superior to the new Lion King.

Enjoyed both Jumanji and the sequel.

Same with National Treasure.

Watched Midnight In Paris (again) last night. Very good.

Looking forward to watching The Dry. Read the book and subsequent novels by Jane Harper. Has got good reviews - including from WPT and Lazza.

Currently watching The Hogfather, 2006 film of the Terry Pratchett book.
Haven’t read any Terry Pratchett books but hubby is a big fan.
A little bit absurd but fun.
