The question of medals seems of fairly low importance and dubious priority given we're talking about human lives here, but I do share her suspicion that people higher up knew more than they're letting on. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

It s not as simple as Lambie makes out with respect to the awards.
The findings of the Brereton inquiry recommended to strip the soldiers and the government said they would follow the recommendations of the enquiry. The General Angus Campbell the head of the ADF merely reflected this and took the recommendations and the governments position at face value. How was he to know that the slimey little turd 'Scotty from opportunistic marketing' would undermine him and throw him under a tank? _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

I expected this – some in the Liberal Party are now questioning why the report was released to begin with (and you can be sure many more have been behind closed doors):
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/dec/03/australian-mp-and-ex-soldier-blasts-release-of-unproven-rumours-alleging-afghan-war-crimes
If ever there was a reminder of how precious and essential transparency and accountability mechanisms are – and how important the work of whistleblowers is – it’s this. It would be so much easier and less painful to sweep this under the rug. And you can be sure that if someone like Hastie was in charge, that’s exactly what would happen. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Hastie should have stuck to being a soldier and not the extreme right wing cnut that he is. What ever happned to the Wilfred Owens of this world? _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
