Another explosion this time in Tehran

"...Explosions were reported west of Tehran on Thursday night, with some initial reports claiming that the explosions occurred at a missile depot belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

According to the Iranian Mehr News Agency, the explosions were reported by social media users west of Tehran and in the cities of Garmdareh and Quds.
Along with the denial of the explosion, Iranian media reported that the mayor of Garmdareh had stated that the explosion was caused by gas tanks, but it was later discovered that the quoted mayor had died over a year ago and that the quoted news was from years ago, according to the Independent Persian. Iranian media had also reported that a security official in the region had attributed the explosion to highway construction, but it was later discovered that the quoted news was from over two years ago..."

Something is going on...

According to the BBC:

"...The member of parliament for Qods also denied that an explosion happened in the city and said the power outages were related to the routine activities of the local power company.

The major of Garmdareh said the sound heard locally was an "explosion at a factory making gas cylinders", according to the New York Times.

What other incidents have taken place?

Since late June there have been several unexplained fires or blasts at sensitive sites:

26 June: Blast at a liquid fuel production facility for ballistic missiles in Khojir, close to Parchin, near Tehran; fire at power plant in Shiraz, causing a blackout
30 June: Explosion at a medical clinic in Tehran, 19 people killed
2 July: Blast and fire at Natanz nuclear site
3 July: Large fire in Shiraz
4 July: Explosion and fire in power plant in Ahwaz; chlorine gas leak at Karoun petrochemical plant in Mahshahr

Why do things keep blowing up in Iran recently?

Good article in Slate magazine

If it is Israel and the US as was the stux net virus in 2010 they better be careful what they wish for.

And there goes another one....what is going on? Strange times indeed

"...The incident came amid a series of mysterious blasts in Iran recently, including one last week that caused extensive damage to a uranium enrichment facility used for centrifuge production at the Natanz nuclear site..."

and the beat goes on....

An Australian woman, Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert an academic from the University of Melbourne was released from jail in Iran after 3-4 years for basically having a partner who is Israeli but was accused of trumped up (excuse the pun) reasons for being a spy for Israel

3 Iranians who were jailed in Thailand for terrorism ( a bomb went off prematurely) who were trying to bomb an embassy / etc & Thai authorities were tipped off by Mossad were released as part of the deal.

The sending of the three Iranians whose plot was foiled was in response to the first listed here:

"JANUARY 12, 2010
Senior Iranian nuclear scientist Prof. Massoud Ali Mohammadi assassinated in northern Tehran

SEPTEMBER 2010
A computer virus known as 'Stuxnet' deployed against the centrifuges at Natanz uranium enrichment facility

OCTOBER 29. 2010
The most senior scientist in the Iranian nuclear program at the time, Prof. Majid Shahariari, and another nuclear scientist are killed in two separate assassinations in Tehran

JULY 23, 2011
A physics professor involved in the Iranian nuclear program is killed by gunmen on motorcycles in Tehran

JANUARY 11, 2012
A chemistry expert who also served as deputy director of the Natanz enrichment facility was killed in an explosion in Tehran

JANUARY 31, 2018
Israel broke into a warehouse where documents from the Iranian nuclear program were hidden on the outskirts of Tehran and stole tens of thousands of secret documents

JUNE 26, 2020
Explosions rock Parchin military base where Iran reportedly tested explosive triggers for nuclear weapons

JUNE 30, 2020
An explosion at Khojir, near Parchin, a base surrounded by underground tunnels believed by the West to have served as a large ammunitions depot. The base produces fuels to propel the Revolutionary Guards' ballistic missile apparatus.

JULY 2, 2020
Explosion - attributed to Israel - at Natanz damages a structure containing advanced centrifuges for uranium enrichment. It is estimated that Iran's nuclear program is set back by one to two years.

JULY 19, 2020
Blast reported at a power plant in Isfahan, in central Iran

NOVEMBER 27, 2020
Leader and key coordinator of Iran's nuclear program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, is assasinated near Tehran..."

It is said that it is also to stop Biden going back to deal with Iran as Obama had done that is to stop any deals being made or to make it harder for Biden.

If truth mimics fiction then look no further than a brilliant and gripping Israeli TV series made in 2015 and winner of Eurpean TV awards called False Flag on SBS on demand It's a ripper and they are so tightly wriiten for 30-40 minute episodes they fit my attention span these days Wink
