Many out there probably didnt even know that the Lord Mayor of Perth is none other than Freo #1 Fan; Basil Zempilas. Made official on October 19.
Some had already canned Basil after his TV interview and documentary with Ben Cousins a year or so ago. Bas has now caused an outrage with some comments made on radio in the past week.

He has since apologised for his comments, but there is still a large group calling for his resignation.

What a dick. He really is putrid as is the blokey culture he embodies.
Media Watch showed his conflicts of interest not too long ago. If you want a definition of a compromised politician and some would say bought pollie then Basil’s your man. Scumbag.

Don’t get me started on this tosser. The wall-to-wall media campaign that got him elected was a disgusting display of conflict of interest, and he ran on a platform of (among other things) saying homeless people in Perth smell bad and will be shuffled elsewhere. I usually don’t go in for whacking politicians for un-PC faux-pas, but god what a clueless idiot.

It goes to show that third tier governmentg in Australia is bloody useless. Full of corrupt (eg Ron Walker) or in this case out of touch (sic) morons. Get rid of it and make local council administration a career choice. With qualifications required.

Please no, local government is being ruined by bureaucrats who are not elected. Administrators have been running city of Perth for the last 3 years due to alleged corruption and bad practices. No one has actually been charged with anything yet |
