Senator Jim Molan, everybody's favourite Liberal Party right-wing extremist says that Tik-Toc is a "data collection service disguised as social media".

Now listen people, we can all see that he's a bit upset. We don't want him to go completely ape-poo, so nobody mention Facebook, OK? And I don't want to hear anyone talking about Google in front of him. Or WhatsApp, or Instagram, or Afterpay, or the Coles Frequent Shopper scheme, or any other grown-up topics. Not a word!

Lets also not mention that India has banned it and Molan in this case at least is 100% spot on.

Never downloaded the app, because I suspected it was Chinese spyware from the beginning.

So what's the rule here? American spyware good, Chinese spyware bad?

PS: I have a Huawei phone. It runs Android, so Google and consequently the US government know everything about me. Not to mention our own government's snooping through their comprehensive metadata retention. So why not level things up a bit and let the Chinese have some too?

Anyone for this? Maybe let the Australian Government in on some (more) of the action?

^ Just so David. Facebook is way more of a problem for Australians (and indeed for most of the rest of the world, including the USA) than Tik-Tok. Zuckerberg is evil.
