I find it interesting that while a city council decides to dismiss most of its police department and undermine the morale of officers on the ground and yet at the same time not one overpaid city bureaucrat has decided to resign.

Surely there must be at least one honest bureaucrat who knows they have failed and feels they need to forfeit their generous emoluments, or perhaps they know if they were to vanish no one would notice.

It's far easier to pontificate, say the right things, be seen to be driving change, blame and sack others and keep your own job.

Here are two interesting and thoughtful articles on this subject.

My bet is that about the same number of bureaucrats has resigned as the number of bureaucrats who have beaten up, discriminated against, shot, and/or otherwise murdered black people while on duty.

Just a guess though. Could be wrong.

The same bureaucrats who are in charge of training, recruitment and budget allocation.

The same bureaucrats who have no understanding on the actual realities facing emergency service personnel.

The same bureaucrats who still get paid and never have to take responsibility for anything other than allocating blame and covering their own arse.

If the police have apparently failed completely so too have the permanent bureaucrats.

Interesting that all these systematically racist police departments are in cities that have been run by Democrats with solely Democrat bureaucracies for decades.
