I believe a private tracker allows a torrent to be created and made available for download for a private members site only.
It shouldn't show up in the search results or be accessible for download on a public platform like thepiratebay. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I read the Reddit thread and the thread itself. The impression I get is that they're a bunch of 4chan basement dwellers who have been at this since the beginning of the year and seem to be getting nowhere. Besides, is their goal even to take the sites down, or what? That didn't seem clear to me. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

4Chan sounds like it's only Scum of the Earth is on there.
I read they want to Get the Content from Private Trackers out in the Open. That probably already happen as lot of it be on Public Trackers like ThePirateBay.
Plus they only let people get that Data they got only IF they Pay/Donate to download it _________________ I am Da Man |

Nothing on there suggests it people from 4chan, to be honest I got bored with the thread probably due to having NFI or caring what's going on.
4chan is just an anonymous message/image board, there are channels for cooking, origami, literature just as there is /b/ (random) where anything goes or /pol/ where people discuss politics with no censorship and anonymity. Of course there are scum bags, trolls and people out to shock or let off steam but equally because of the lack of censorship you get some of the best, most informed discussion and conversation without some idiot "downvoting" you.
Saying 4chan users are scum is like saying Facebook users, Twitter users, Nicks Users, it's just people with various interests posting on the internet... just a (relatively) unpoliced one. |

4chan is a lot more controversial than Nick's BB (despite the best efforts of some VPTers)! |

Controversy doesn't mean much, like I said there's an origami board that's a lot more tame than Nick's is.
My point is it's a diverse selection of people posting about 30 or so different topics. Some boards are sewers, some are like an old folks home crochet class. |

^ Fair enough. I’ve never posted there, though every thread I’ve ever come across has always been populated by ... let’s just say ne’er-do-wells, to put it nicely.
Anyway, what with all the enforced home isolation going on, torrent trackers are pretty much the most important service available to humanity. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Having browsed that Reddit page I quickly realised I had no idea what they were talking about and their computing knowledge was far above my own.
I also quickly realised I don't care as it's not a world I want to inhabit.
Much prefer the simplicity of internet porn. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
