He will need to recruit wisely if he is to succeed, and rather than look outside the game, as his predecessors have done, it might make sense to look to proven performers within the sport who at least have a deep understanding of Australian soccer's culture and the way it has to fight for its corner as a "challenger" against the behemoths of AFL and rugby league."
