This morning i slept a little late, so i figured i may as well go for the blood tests i got the note for back in july! i rock up at 7.29 and there are 4 people already there, they start at 7.30. a couple more arrive and sit down, then a women comes in, looks around sighs and plunks her butt. the nurse comes out with patient 1 and she stands up, no excuse me no please no thankyou 'will this take more than 20 min? i will have to come back? or ill get my laptop? " the nurse explains patiently that each patients needs are different and she cant estimate. the woman storms out with her number in a huff! i really wish id said and you just cost us all an extra 5 min! she came back a while later and takes up 2 chairs with her obviously very important shit! 3 more have arrived, its been about 25 min. in comes a guy in work gear, and he gives the poor nurse an earful! im not really sure what these 2 morons expected to achieve! i waited 40 min, so av 10 min a person, its not long, and hey, its a queue, get there earlier! what is it these days that people seem to think their time, their needs are more important than anyone elses? why cant people take responsibility for themselves? Get there earlier, come back at a time when your not in a hurry. I felt so sorry for this nurse, i actually said im so sorry you have to deal with these impatient sods and i appreciate your time, have a great day! Im sure She has copped worse. This is shit that should not happen. its not necessary, and it just puts a damp spot in everyones day! I get people at the docs getting pissed when they load appointments at 10 min intervals, so the wait time blows right out, but i go to a decent clinic now, and ive never waited longer than 15 min. Some people dont seem to understand the meaning of "waiting room!" i probably would not have noticed so much had i not read this thread yesterday. doesnt take much to ignite a spark these days. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I'm sure the nurse would have liked hearing your empathic words. I go at about 1130 for blood tests or early pm to avoid the queues. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

That's weird. It can't be as simple as centre of gravity, there's plenty of women who are quite top heavy, must have something to do with the hips and glutes which is the area that drives that straightening motion.
Simple Trans test if it works. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

A random search brought up this old thread, and all I can say is: who is this "David" character and who allowed him to post on this forum!?

As the saying goes: if you're not a concerned student conservative at the age of 20, you have no heart, and if you're not a socialist at the age of 30, you have no brain. (But yes, the Lot's Wife of 2011 was pretty ... well, "earnest" is the word, I suppose.) _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

The funny thing is, I'm not sure I have changed all that much since then. I was already a Greens voter then, and I'm a Greens voter now, for instance. I still hold most of the same values deep down, even if my positions on certain issues may have developed and shifted. But there's no way that I'd be this disparaging towards student leftists these days, because I think that most of what they were striving for is good, even though some of the stuff the student paper ran was undeniably silly (even now, I'm not going to go into bat for that risible "smash a fascist today" piece). And there are also still legitimate questions to be asked about the breadth of views a student paper should be willing to tolerate, and whether it should be solely serve as a mouthpiece for a certain view of the world.
Do you feel the same when you look back at yourself from 5–10 years ago? I think you said once that you used to be a bit more left-leaning. I guess the question is, do we really change politically, or do the same impulses and inclinations just get directed in different ways? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

well for a start politics change, and our needs regarding politics change, for example, you now have a child who needs schooling, vaccinations, health care, dental, maybe speech therapy or whatever, these things were not on your mind 7 years ago when you were 20 (i think your 27 or close to it?) so your views will have shifted even slightly.
For me, i certainly dont, but its not just the change of seasons, i think when people start dying off around you, you take a good look at the big picture and figure out what is worth putting your energy into.
Ive never been fussed politically, i think i drive Jezza mad, ive asked him so many times if im left or right, i can never remember, but funnily enough im half way through the 8 seasons of the West Wing, and so many of the stories have a basing in reality, ie, shit that has happened, or nearly did, Im actually learning heaps! ill google an event after it has been on the show! My anser in the Darwin Awards surprised me as much as anyone else. i always thought druggies and prostitutes should be lined up and shot, I no longer feel that way. higher up the dog chain around their necks, i still feel that way!
Everyone changes. Things change beyond your control. Anyone who doesnt change their mind about at least some stuff is living under a rock. Its what life is about, learning, changing, growing. Stagnant water is bad water! same as government! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
