Yes he can because as you said, he's an apologist.
One of the fundamental tenants of Islam is that everyone who is not one of the faith has the status of an animal.
Now I know we have people here who consider animals to be people, but that's not the premise here.
It's how the fanatics can kill so easily. The tactic has been used forever, dehumanise your foe , but Mohammed was the first to hard wire it into a religion. And yet, this is the first time we've heard a Muslim athlete do this. Is it possible that that's because the vast majority of Muslim athletes does happily shake hands with their non-Muslim opponents at the end of the game? But apparently that entire history has been erased and now this is reflective of some "expert's" understanding of the Muslim faith that you picked up in some self-published book.
As for calling me an 'apologist', you're starting to sound like Skids. I didn't know you had fallen so deeply into anti-Muslim sentiment. What you wrote just now was pathetic.

Such a tolerant and inclusive religion. |
Because they're all like that? I'm guessing you wouldn't be making disparaging comments about Australians if we chose to highlight some of Lleyton Hewitt's antics. |
Really???? seriously really - provide evidence of any time that Lleyton refused to shake hands with his opponent at the end of a match regardless of what had occurred during the game, what race or religion his opponent was or what the result was!!
You can't possibly think the Egyptians behaviour or comments from his countrymen was reasonable or appropriate |
I'm not sure if he has, but it would hardly surprise me; Hewitt has a reputation for his unsportsmanlike behaviour.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lleyton_Hewitt
Of course, if he does that, it's just Lleyton acting up. If some tosser who happens to be Muslim does the same, it's a reflection on his religion and culture. This is how it works, isn't it? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

You think what i wrote was pathetic, I think your blind defense of Islam is irrational, ridiculous and idealistically based.
We disagree. Wow, first time for everything. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Really?
I referred to a religion, not a generalisation about individual people.

No it's not - you seriously are such an apologist and so desperate in your desire to defend at all costs you have lost any ability to actually see any incident for what it is!
There is a big difference between unsportsmanlike behaviour during a game such as Lleyton and that tool Kryrios have displayed or Warnie or anyone else for that matter and a concentrated campaign by supporters of a religion - any religion - but in this case followers of salafist Islam as is the competitor to firstly call for the boycott of a match against an Israeli opponent at the Olympic Games and then refuse to abide by and demonstrate the basics of sportsmanship and the expected code of conduct of their sport as well, based solely on their religious beliefs - that is discrimination and if the shoe was on the other foot you and your fellow left wing luvvies would be screaming blue murder!!
Glad he lost - he and Egypt should be banned at competing at International events till they learn to keep their religious claptrap out of sport meets- end of!! _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

There is always a bad egg
There has been more than one case of bad sportsmanship and from more than one country, doesn't matter the excuse,
There has also been some very feel good sporting moments too
Hopefully this tool is shamed into realizing what he did was wrong

How do we feel about the show jumping horses?
Is it the same way some feel about horse racing?
Just asking since there is already a bit of angst in the thread. |

Yeah it's pretty disgusting their attitude, and certainly, with the comments made by the team, they should be banned from the event. You shake hands even if you think you were robbed, you just do.
The worst for me though was the pole vault. The treatment of Renaud Lavillenie by the crowd before he jumped, and on the podium. The MC should have called them out and shamed them on the spot. Good to see the winner consoling him, but that was just despicable. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Hahaha read an article today about the dick head swimmer that got caught out lying, an American journo calling him the 'ugly American abroad'!
I reckon every country has them!
