Mick has directly and indirectly been involved in our 2 greatest triumphs of the last few decades. Of course he was the coach of our 2010 premiership side and he coached the eagles in 1990 who drew with the Pies and helped destroy the flag chances of the Bummers.

No doubt Mick's time at Collingwood recently ended badly and the guy showed a lack of class, however he has redeemed himself by helping to drive the Bloozers into the wilderness.

He lured an injured and overpaid Daisy with him and now the bloozers look set to be bottom feeders for the next few years. Mick has brought back the animosity to our games against our most hated rival. In 2012 with Ratten at the helm the Bloozers knocked us off twice and I recall it was pretty one-sided stuff with Eddie Betts destroying our defence. Mick turned that around, Bux has ensured the players lift against the old enemy and Mick has made things a lot easier by moving eddie betts along. Well done Mick - your efforts are much appreciated Smile You lifted our club to the greatest heights and now have taken the Blues to the lowest of lows - perhaps for 3 or 5 years. Joy Smile

Not all roses. He actually might have made a good director of coaching at Collingwood, but because he let his ego get ahead of any rational thought processes, he undermined Buckley and left the club in the lurch regarding his replacement. The club made a hasty decision in appointing Rodney Eade to a role he wasn't suited to. The ship has finally righted itself with the appointment of Balme this year and in providing extra help to Buckley last year in the return of our favourite son, Sir Scotty Burns. All up Malthouse has cost the club about three years in its search for its next premiership. This is counterbalanced by Malthouse putting back the chances of Carlton winning its next premiership by about twenty years.

Well said. Mick earns a Collingwood life membership on those grounds alone. I always said the so-called Eddie-Mick feud was a cover for our real goal - to destroy Carlton! Mick has played a brilliant undercover operation with a lot of help from Daisy Thomas. Well done guys. You won a premiership for us and now you have done something that almost gives us as much pleasure (perhaps more!). The Scum are destroyed. Laughing Razz

Right on both counts. Balmey is a legend and a Collingwood man at heart though he never played for us.

As for Rocket Eade. OMG how the Suns must be regretting their stupid decision on sacking McKenna and replacing him with this dinosaur. In fact I believe that Richard Hammond is making a trip out to the Gold Coast to film a special edition of the show "The Science of Stupid", all about the hiring of Eade and the implosion of that club. Should be a scream. Laughing

Maclure has been saying that since round 2 or 3 on Fox Footy to anybody who will listen to him.

It's getting to the point now where you take it with a grain of salt and think 'if he continues to say it then it will eventually happen'.

Patrick Smith has lost his mind again. He's on SEN saying Carlton should throw big bucks at Clarkson to get him to replace Mick at Carlton. There wouldn't be a hope in hell of that happening.

A top coach in his prime like Clarkson could do something with the basket-case Bloozers in about 5 years…

That would require 10 million bucks I reckon at around 2million each year for 5 years at a minimum and Clarko would want to hire his own people - which would cost more again etc…

They will be bottom for the next 3 years easy, so they should get some decent kids in the next few years.

If Clarkson did it and was successful he would be considered probably the best or one of the absolute best coaches ever… ! it could be tempting??? certainly tempted MM!

Mick is a Collingwood legend. You can tell he has never truly bonded with his players at Carlton in the same way that he did at Collingwood. He will always be a Collingwood man and I think a small part of him may have been happy that Collingwood won during his milestone coaching match. We love you Mick!
