Yes - although it's to be noted that the Moores already have as many Brownlows between them as the Abletts - and have also played 1 more Grand Final. |
And lets hope that by the end of Darcy's career he has at least twice as many premiership medallions as the Abletts!! |

So Moore has finished school yet not old enough to be drafted.
Doesn't happen that often does it? _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

This suggests we will wait and see how things play out.
Quote: | Next year's draft is viewed as rich in talent, particularly in the key-position area. |
Now that other clubs can put in bids to force us to use a higher pick, I'd suggest we will want to see him play a season of TAC and see how he compares so we can determine how high a draft pick is appropriate to use. Basically, learn at what point we say No.
In regard to finishing school young, it's not that uncommon, some kids get bumped up a year early if they're doing real well. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Darcy Moore, available to Collingwood, could be the best player in this year’s draft.Melbourne will follow Billy Stretch closely, West Coast has first call on Alec Waterman, Collingwood will keep an eye on Will Stewart and the Western Bulldogs can consider Zaine Cordy, Josh Wallis and Darcy McPherson as well as Jayden Foster and Luke Kennedy, playing for the Calder Cannons as 19-year-olds.
Plenty of other players have connections too: Tom Lamb, a top 10 prospect, is the grandson of StKilda premiership hero Ian Cooper, while Sam Weidemann’s father and grandfather, Murray, played for Collingwood. Angus Brayshaw’s father Mark was a North Melbourne player and Richmond’s chief executive. Teia Miles’ father Geoff played for Geelong, Harry Kol’s father Michael did too, and Reece McKenzie is the son of former Carlton player Warren. The Blues’ chief executive Greg Swann has a son, Dylan, at the Western Jets and Wesley College.
Next year there could be even more, with Josh Dunkley (Sydney), Jake Lovett (Melbourne), Tom Wallis (Essendon), Daniel Rendell (Brisbane), Jake Bradley (Carlton) and James Coghlan (St Kilda) eligible for the 2015 draft as father-son selections. So is Bailey Rice, who may have to choose between the Blues and St Kilda if he’s good enough. |

It's going to be so good to finish top 4 this year and still get a top 5 draft pick .
A pity the F&S isn't as generous as when Geelong were rorting the system with Ablett and Scarlett and we were with the Clokes and Shaws. _________________ Well done boys! |

All these other FS prospects takes some pressure of us in terms of using our first round pick for Moore, especially if they are equally considered high draft options. |

Jeez, I'd love to see another Weidemann don the black and white. I grew up as a kid hearing about how the Weed (and Hooker Harrison) single-handedly took on the Dees in 1958, delivering us one of the greatest Grand final victories ever. I was also at Victoria Park, the day his son played his first game for us. He never lived up to the unrealistic expectations of Pies supporters, but nevertheless, he played some good football for us before moving back to Adelaide. The name Weidemann is as Collingwood as Coventry, Richards, Rose or Daicos. |

Did Mark Weidemann play over 100 games for the 'pies? Otherwise his son will not qualify for F/S. |

Only 28.
But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be good to have another Weiderman running around in a pies jumper. |

Mark played 28 games over 4 seasons, most of those in his first one.
His son plays for the Eastern Ranges in the TAC cup. Listed as 194cm and 86kg but no photo and I'm not sure if that's last years profile or not.
If he's any good we'd have to draft him. Best case would be if he didn't get drafted to rookie him or put him on the VFL squad with the other sons who aren't quite good enough for AFL.
Edit, found a bit more on him. Would have played U16's last year.
Won the EFL under 15 B&F playing for Vermont in 2012.
Not eligible to be drafted until 2015, looks a promising key forward.
Quote: | Eastern Ranges
The surname Weideman is synonomous to any Collingwood supporter. Sam Weideman is the grandson of one of the Pies’ favourite sons, Murray. The dual premiership player was a key cog in Collingwood’s 1953 premiership, before taking the reigns as captain and leading the Pies to their 1958 flag. Sam’s father Mark played just 28 games for the Pies, which means he does not qualify as a father-son in his draft year, in which he is eligible in 2015. The 195 cm and 88 kg centre half forward is a always a threat in the air and around goal. |

Moore only played 75ish games for Melbourne. My Dees supporting mates are already crying that they will be denied a shot at him |
