And yet you are not surprised that David is doing the ultimate "poor uni student" backpacks Europe" cliche? |
Hey, I've been developing into a walking cliche for years now. Why stop now? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Some of the best preserved and ruined castles in Europe, plus ruins stretching back to the Bronze Age. Southern Europe is dotted with Roman and Greek ruins, as is Turkey. If you are interested do some research on the net first and plan a bit of an itinerary. If you want the ultimate in ruined castles, Vlad Dracul's ruined castle still exists in Romania. |
Thanks RR. We were looking at a Lonely Planet article on castles and saw the Transylvanian castle you mentioned. Doubt we'll get down to Romania, but it looks amazing. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Being the closest this board has to an actual contrarian (as opposed to the jack_spain self-proclaimed type), I'd expect him to do it in one of those abandoned buildings with decrepit architecture he seems to like so much. Possibly in Andorra or Lichtenstein. In freezing weather.
Hey David, just an idea |
Lol. Er... guys? We've been engaged for six months now.
But yes, I did do it in freezing weather, except on a footpath in Brunswick. |
i was going to suggest it might have happened on brunswick street or similar. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I'm surprised no response to that magnanimous offer.
I was expecting something along the lines of you can be first eunuch. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Berlin and Barcelona I've always liked visiting... and Verona for some strange reason... perhaps just figure on half a dozen things you must see and then meander between them.... I'm travelling around a bit in March/April, but drop me a line before you go, if your dates work, I may even be able to put you up for a few days, if not, I can at least introduce you to the art of drinking Pride! |

Thanks very much LD. We'll probably be in the UK around late April/early May, so that could work out well. I'll PM you when we have a clearer idea of dates. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
