Judkins recruited well between 1998 and 2000. After that, it was a reasonably sorry tale.
Of course, Swan was a great get at pick 58 in 2001 but Cole, Davidson, McGough and Tristen Walker weren't. The 2002 national draft was a complete bust (Nixon, Shackleton, Cam Cloke, King, Lokan) - only Nick Maxwell (taken at pick 15 in the rookie draft) was a keeper. In 2003, he took 2 Shaws F/S - Heath was (and remains) a champion but Brayden wasn't and the actual draft picks (Morrison, Hall and Julian Rowe) were busts, as were the rookies.
So, in those 3 years, he managed to draft Swan and rookie Maxwell and have Heater land in his lap. That explains, I think, why help was brought in during 2004. |

My position on Hine recruitment 2005 to 2011 is well known.
I said it was reasonable not saint material.
He had one great year 2006.
His recruitment 2012 to 2015 is still to play out.
Please do not project future success to current picks 2012 to 2015.
We simply don't know but saying it is in the bag is not worth anything. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Absolutely.
I said we'll get a truer indication of his worth when we see the results over the coming seasons. If we go good then I'd call him brilliant, if not then I'd say he's merely good.
I think the indications are good but that remains to be seen. |

Trade for him. Now. Offer them Cloke, White and Pendlebury, I reckon.
That's Cameron, Barry and Kris. |

Ceglar out, too.
I don't know what our recruiters were thinking.
These sorts of decisions have haunted us since Doug Searl was let go to Fitzroy. |

I don't think Ceglar showed anything last week against Witts, nor is he ahead of Grundy, to suggest in either case our recruiter made mistake. |

How do you feel about this now?
We passed him up in the draft in the year we took Brodie Grundy. Then we didnt look to trade him in when the Bombers got him from GWS for a pick in the 70s at the end of 2016. Both moves were criticised by some supporters and those outside the club.
At 26 years of age, he still has a few years left to get the most out of his career. He has played for 2 clubs, but only has 55 games to his name.

Good morning Mr Presti35.
Is he out of contract?
Does he want to play with us?
Where would you best see him used?
At 199cms and 96kgs, this 26 year old could play at Centre Half back and release either Moore or Roughead into the forward/second ruck role.
I think that he would be a really good acquisition (at the right price)- good call. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Where would you best see him used? If we had him, we may not have gone for Mihocek. But I think we'd play him as a third tall.
I think that he would be a really good acquisition (at the right price). We had a chance to trade him in. I'm thinking it was the right call due to his lack of games played. Has had a few injury issues though. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Which is about 7 games a year more than Reid has averaged in the last few years (and more than 33 yo Buddy Franklin is likely to average if we get him). |
