To those Nicks Members who are too young to remember Greening, just imagine Nathan Buckley being able to run quicker, jump higher and consistently find a target with either a Drop Punt, Torpedo, Drop Kick or a Stab Pass and you will have some idea of how good this guy was. Add to that, someone as freaky as Daicos.
I have been fortunate to see some great Collingwood Champions but none compared with John Greening.
Canberra.

Have no doubts about John Greening's champion qualities. I remember seeing him in the under 19s, the reserves and then the seniors in the late '60s. He was without question the best Collingwood footballer I have seen full stop. And that includes Buckley, Daicos, Millane etc etc. To leave him out of the Tasmanian team is a travesty!
An absolute champion!
