After spending 2002 at Williamstown, Walker burst on to the scene
in round one 2003, playing on star Tiger forward Matthew Richardson.
Walker held his own on the big Tiger and showed enough poise to
suggest he was a future player.
As the season wore on, Walker continued to improve, with his best
game coming against Sydney at Telstra Stadium in round 21. Walker
was fantastic early as the Pies registered an upset victory. After
losing his spot for the Preliminary Final, Walker was promoted for
the Grand Final after only having played nine games prior to the
big day. In the end, the
occasion was too much for Walker, who had a shocker as the Pies
went down by
50 points.
2004 was a year where Walker was expected to kick on in AFL football,
but instead turned into a horror year for the big man who only played
three matches, and was not up to scratch in any of the matches.
In round eight, Walker was played on Saints star Nick Riewoldt,
who blew him out of the park in a best on ground display.
