The 2000 Brownlow Medallist spent six years at Demonland before
becoming a Magpie in 2003, much to the dismay of Demon supporters.
In his time at Melbourne. Woewodin showed courage, endurance and
skill - all three being large factors in his Brownlow Medal win.
In his first season at Collingwood, Woewodin was consistent, without
starring. He dominated early in the season before he faded midway.
His best matches were against Richmond and Adelaide early in the
year. Against Melbourne in round 11, Woewodin put to bed the final
Demons that he had carried with him since his departure at the end
of
2002.
Woewodin enjoyed a good patch late in the year before fading in
the finals. After scoring the side's first goal of the 2003 Grand
Final, Woewodin fell away dismally as his side went down by 50 points.
Keen to atone for the Grand Final loss, Woewodin started 2004 well,
playing as a leader and showing many others the way. His skill and
composure early in the
season were highlights in a slow start.
