Drafted at pick 21 in the 2002 National Draft, Nixon made his debut
in round 2 of season 2004 against the Western Bulldogs. After spending
2003 at Williamstown, where he won a premiership, Nixon began 2004
well with an impressive performance against the West Coast Eagles
when the Pies went down by a whopping 105 points.
Nixon’s hardness and hunger for a battle helped win him a
spot in the side for the round 2 clash with the Dogs. Nixon went
kick less, after beginning the match on the ground.
The next week Nixon again failed to trouble the statistician and
was accordingly dropped for the round 4 match against Fremantle.
Nixon returned against St.Kilda in round 8 and recorded his first
stat, although that wasn’t enough to keep his place in the
side for the next match.
Nixon then returned to Williamstown where he continued to impress
and throw his name up in the lights.
