Player Profile: by Johnson#26

After making his debut in round 15 1998 for the West Coast, Williams played out a serviceable yet unspectacular career in Perth and at the end of 2002 was traded to Collingwood in return for Damien Adkins.
Williams began 2003 with a mighty bang, starring in the first three matches against Richmond, Carlton and Geelong. His strong marking and accuracy in front of the big sticks were highlights.
Then, in round 4, Williams was manned up by Brisbane tough man Brad Scott and had no influence on the match. Then late in round 6, Williams was crunched by Barry Hall as the Pies lost to Sydney.
This was the beginning of a poor patch for Williams, as he could not regain his confidence or composure for the rest of the season. In round 12, Williams was again crunched and broke his ribs, forcing him once more to the sidelines.
Williams never really got going after that and after a Qualifying Final which did not yield a kick, Williams was banished to Williamstown, where he played in the Grand Final winning side. Although named as an emergency. Williams could not crack the Grand Final side. Williams was determined to hit back in 2004 but when given the opportunity in the Wizard Cup he did not take it.
He sprayed multiple behinds as the Pies went down by 105 points. In his only senior match for the year, Williams was miserable against St.Kilda with only a handful of possessions.
