Vital we get at least that sort of input from the Stunner every week. All we need is for him to be competitive in the middle to give our on ballers some sort of a chance. It's alright playing sides like Carlton and St Kilda if we're flogged out of the middle, but when it comes to the other top sides as we saw in the Wizard Cup GF, they will capitalise and hurt us on the scoreboard. Some help for him other than Josh and Anthony - who are better up forward - would be nice. Very tough to endure a whole season burdened with the ruck role without tiring towards the end of a long arduous season. Good start from him. |

I love Stunning Steve for his efforts in the ruck -where he nullifies the opposition ruckman to allow the third man to come over the top and punch clear . But I especially love his efforts around the ground , he has great reflexes and never stops trying .
I have noticed that Taz & Stunning are always being canned - is this because they don't get involved in the theatrics on the ground . They just go about their job with a minimum of fuss & to the best of their ability . |

Well, finally! We've all resigned ourselves to the fact that our rucks are not the magical cure-all that will carry us on their broad shoulders to ultimate glory.
It's great to read posts that are thoughtful and knowledgable whilst commenting on our rucks. Thankfully we seem to have moved on.
Win, loss will not be due to Stunning being beaten in hit outs, which, in MM's opinion is obviously an over-rated stat.
If we can convince those prone to hysterics about rucks/hit outs then I feel we can stop the bagging/lamentation/ wringing of hands when analysing the game and more specifically Stunning Steve McKee, who does exactly what MM asks.
There is a plan folks, and it's quite obvious. MM had his pick of any ruckmen pre season - he chose a midfielder! Cheers |
