here, here Dave.
those who stick the knives in are contemptuous and disrespectful to those of us for whom pain has built bridges over which we have marched and will continue to march headlong into what comes next no matter what it is or what it holds for us. When combined with alcohol this way of living can only lead to an early death, but I'm glad I'm not marching alone!
Pies forever. And thanks for being so honest Joffa. Ya big lug. How could you doubt yourself? You're as pure as the wig on your head! |

Absolute rubbish.
No one is saying that losing a Final is a success. The success is in making the Final.
It's not as if we're dancing around saying "Whoopee ... we LOST the Final ... aren't we good."
But SOME of us are actually proud and grateful that our team did well enough to win the three lead up matches that got us into the Final. Just as we were proud of the wins over Port Adelaide and Adelaide last September.
These were GREAT achievements, especially those famous victories last September. Any Collingwood supporter who isn't proud of those achievements is destined for a miserable life. Because premierships don't happen all that often ... even for clubs like Essendon and Carlton. |

I was proud that we made the grandfinal in sept last year.....and very proud we gave it our best shot and so very very sad that we lost..still can't watch a replay.and cry every time i see the image of mick and licca.
But saturday night it just seemed that we weren't playing our best....that we were treating the game as a preseason game, as a through away practise match.
Any loss is so hard to take.
I watch the port and adelaide wins from last years finals....and just think sadly of what might have been......but that year has finished, and now on to this season.....and i am so looking forward to watching our lads, and enjoying the season greatly! |

When it's all said and done the end result is all that matters. You don't go into an exam, get a few questions right and thus having a success in it but actually not passing the exam.
For too long Collingwood fans have been too contend with living on the success of making a Grand Final as opposed to not accepting a Grand Final loss.
Most things in life are judged by the end result. Convincing yourself that the success is getting to the end but not delivering the result you intended is a loser mentality. |

Sure great two finals wins last season against the two South Aussie teams but I would have to agree with Rohans comments that making it is no longer good enough for a club like ours it is time that this club starting winning Grand Finals, since 1960 we have been in 11 Grand Finals for 1 win, 1 draw and 9 loses, that is not a record I am proud of. |

Ro, where are you getting this tripe from? It is simply not true, and it seems that no matter how many people on this thread, on this site and other sites and who knows wherever else share their disappointment at a lack of premiership success in equal doses with the pride they have for their club, you are determined to ignore them for the sake of a rhetorical post.
