Congrats on a fabulous career albeit cut short by your injuries. I remember waiting patiently until you recovered from an ankle injury before you first started playing and being rapt about Collingwood having the foresight to keep you on the list. And to think that you ended up being a Collingwood premiership player was just tremendous. Your welfare first. Farewell in your future endeavours.

Round 16, 2023, 13:50 to play in the second quarter, kick out to Moore at CHB, Murphy has broken away and takes the hball receive and drives it long inside 50. Super aggressive play which we he won’t be remembered for, but is my favourite Murph moment (perhaps because it was uncharacteristic).

Fearless. Loved by teammates. Premiership player.

Thanks for your service to our great club.

Maybe pose this question in the relevant thread and consider a tribute instead.

A Magpie Premiership legend, always will be. Ten concussions, jeezus, no wonder it had to come to this. Farewell Nat dog, your partner in crime Darcy will miss you back there, for sure, as we all will.

Wow! The brightest stars burn out the quickest, and he sure had an event filled career.
There will be plenty on here, who on reflection of their posts, called him a list clogger when he couldn't get on the park for, what was it, seemed like two and a half years.
And the patience of the Club and supporters was paid back in spades...I really don't think we win the flag without him.

Kudos to a marvelous career, and all the best with the future endeavors

Our best? Reckon he would be up there with any other 57 gamer who ever pulled on the boots surely?
Would be an interesting comparison...might be a few that give him a run for his money

More highlights in his 57 games than most players get over a long career.
The epitome of guts and determination, heart and soul. Always gave 100%.
A huge reason we got where we did last year. He will be missed.
Thanks for everything Murph.
You retire a Collingwood Premiership Legend!!

He was a warrior in our D50. His courage and determination to hold the line is now legendary, and was an inspiration to both his team mates and to all of us, who watched him in awe.
It is with great sadness that I wish to acknowledge my gratitude and my respect for his extraordinary and all too short career with our beloved team. His decision must have been such a painful one to make, but of course a necessary one for himself.
I wish Nathan Murphy all the very best in the future for his health and happiness.

Geez how quickly in 2022/23 did Murph go from being a maybe to one of our most important players on the field. So grateful for his courage and bravery even for a short few years and that he was rewarded with a premiership medal.

It’s a tough cost to pay though. Spare a thought for Murph in future years as he may yet have some medical conditions to live through in future due to those concussions.

What is it with our defenders. Tom Langdon, Roughead and now Murph retired from the game in their prime
