Double posting

Mods I'm getting a little tired of my posts freezing and then posting twice when I repost.

This doesn't happen all the time but often enough to annoy.

Hi Jon, it’s not really a mod issue but a technical problem with the site. As far as I’m aware it’s been happening for a few years now, and there’s nothing we can do about it.

The best I can recommend is to save what you’ve written before you hit post (say, by copying the text), then hit post once. If you get a blank screen, just go back to the relevant page of the thread and refresh and your post should be there – and on the off chance it hasn’t, you can just paste the text back in and try again.

I find that if you get an error after hitting submit just go back on your browser and then hit preview instead. You'll then be able to see in the topic review (scroll down) if your post went through. It's a pretty sure fire way of avoiding double posts
